SS rear calipers on an LT1

will they bolt right in or is there additional mounting required?

Looks like they bolt rite on.

Doubt it. You'd probably need a larger rotor and caliper hanger.

Maybe emergency brake hardware to match the rotor too...

No. The parking brake is 2.0 x v6 combo, weirdly. You can install but lose the parking break. I’ve emailed Wilwood to use my car as prototype to build a setup. No reply.

“I’m gunna go buy an LT1. I don’t need the SS stuff.”

“Hey does this SS stuff just bolt on?”

Also..

“I don’t need a ZL1.”

“Hey do these ZL1 parts just bolt on?”

Just get a 6 banger and you can really mod away.

Op it does not make sense if you are looking for better braking the SS rear brakes will not help. They do make more sense on an SS. A though they do look cool. But if you want to track seriously with an SS add the bigger 1LE/ZL1 front brakes. I never understood the rear brembos on the SSes. Although they will last longer at the track than the LT rear brakes. The fronts are going to fade first and when they do time to back off.

I just painted my LT brakes red to match the front Brembos. I was ticked off I paid SS $$ for only the fronts to be painted. I have complained to Chevy about that. I never heard back. That was my answer, avoid add on parts as an option. They are not worth it.

The first mod i would do, is this. Worth it or not, better or not this is one of the main reasons i went Challenger over Mustang GT. 45k+ car and they cannot put on matching calipers. I guess i kind of get why on the LT1, to keep cost down.

The whole intent was to match calipers, not creating a cheap SS

Guess I should have listed reasons....
Looks like **** with four banger calipers

A friend of mine bought a 2021 LT1 and asked me to find out if they make a rear caliper cover for it? He has the front brembos in orange. If only option is paint where do you get the paint?
