Mast Motorsports Black Label LT1 Heads
4 Attachment(s)
Hey fellas, not sure if anyone has had a chance to try these new heads out? Mast made some killer LS heads in the past, so when they decided to make some LT heads, it definitely caught my eye. I decided to pull the trigger on them for my next round of upgrades on my Whipple SS. They finally arrived today, and look to be a thing of beauty! Flow numbers are obviously very solid too, but the craftsmanship looks to be top notch. Here’s hoping they perform like they look!

I'm by no means a cylinder head guru, but those things look like a work of art. You want to play, you gotta pay. Looking forward to seeing your numbers.

Wow. Eldebrock, cid, prc and now mast. How is a person to decide?

Look awesome, but naked. Is that by choice or Do you have to supply your own valve train?

https://www.mastmotorsports.com/prod...-cylinder-head Decked out with springs, ti intake valves and Inconel exhaust valves it comes up to about $5300. That is about the same price as the cid heads loaded up from lme. I don’t have a clue which are better. The cid heads are set up for 6 head bolts but there is no aftermarket block yet. Someone that knows about this stuff needs to post up. I am mostly concerned with durability at high hp. I think I will start a new thread asking comparisons between the 2 and not divert this thread any more than I already have. |
The Mast are 3,959.84 with polished dual springs and stainless hollow stem intake & solid exhaust valves. I would probably opt Inconel on the exhaust for boost which ups the cost to 4079.84.
Most builds don't warrant titanium intake valves and 1209x springs except maybe Max effort NA since the cam will be rather large. |

Picked up my finished Mast heads yesterday. FWIW, just have Mast do this if you decide to do these heads. The valves (Manley severe duty stainless on intake and inconel on exhaust) are longer than stock due to the increased deck thickness. Also, the spring locators and valve locks are not the same as stock LT1. So I ended up buying all that stuff from Mast anyway. The dual valve springs and titanium retainers came from CamMotion. Now just going on week #8 waiting for my pistons & rods from GPI... :faint:

Finally been messaging 3 years should be the best of like the LS they have.
If I remember the LS had a slightly different valve geometry or angle to pull 1000 or so more rpms more if you used a good set of rockers |
