P0171 and 174 after RotoFab intake install.
Hey guys, I installed a rotoFab dry intake system... got the above codes after 20 mile drive. Worse thing is, I can’t erase them on my 19 1LE. Checked all the clamps... no leaks. Is this a norm? I’d hate to drive with the CEL. It would bug me. Any ideas?
Thanks! |
Take it to Advance Auto, they will tell you what the codes are and might clear them for you as well.
Did you remove the negative battery cable? The MAF needs to reset and compensate for the increased air flow.
Those are lean bank 1 and bank 2 codes. I would suggest resetting ECU to try and remove them.

I have the reader... two of them... hence how I got the codes. Why would I go to advance? I disconnected the battery now... for 10min... retighten everything... cel is off, no codes. I’ll see after another drive. Hope it doesn’t come back.

Codes came back. Same ones... short time too. Any ideas at all? No other mods. New car.
Did you do the big gulp roto fab?
I'm glad I saw this, was holding off on the Rotofab because I was worried this would happen. Only mods I have are AEM dry panel filter and Katech 87mm PTB.
Anyone else have codes with the standard Rotofab? |
No codes here. Standard RF and 87mm Katech TB.
Not a big gulp, just a standard grey filter, rotoFab intake. Disconnected a battery again... however I have a feeling it’ll come back again. If this continues, I’ll be returning this thing.
or you could tune it to compensate for the increased flow from the Rotofab. I know they aren't supposed to require a tune, but may be worth itto maximize the intake anyway. I tuned my car immediately after I added the rotofab
The codes will keep coming back. Check for leaks around the intake tract and make sure everything is tightened correctly and don't go WOT until it's fixed.
Ya id start over from the beginning...if you put the stock air filter back on are you getting codes? If not id start over with the neg terminal off and give it another shot before returning it. I've been in for warranty work half a dozen times or more and return to stock form from cai and ported throttle body every time. Where im at... if you tune it they cant wait to deny warranty work.
