Magnetic ride on SS and Brembo's standard for all models.

I want to hear some thoughts on this. That just sounds way too good to be true. Anyone have any idea what this is going to do for the price of all models? Regardless, that is amazing and i definitely can't wait to see one of these in person.

I thought Brembos were standard on all cars but then I heard they were optional on V6 and T4.

According to Chevy, Brembos and aluminum wheels come standard on ALL trim levels

THE INSIDE STORY
Drivetrain
Aluminum suspension components reduce unsprung mass for improved handling vs. steel.
For the first time, Brembo® brakes come standard on all Camaro models.
All wheel options are lightweight aluminum.

I didn't see anything saying that MRC was standard. I keep seeing "available."

ilirg 05-16-2015 10:42 PM

MRC is stated as available, no way that its standard, that would add way too much cost for those that don't care about MRC.

LesserO2Evils 05-16-2015 11:02 PM

Brembos standard. MRC available.

AshenGreyLFX 05-16-2015 11:25 PM

I didn't mean "mag ride is standard" i meant that it's able to be put on the SS. Still, that is miles above what i expected out of the SS.

brembos are standard across all models? Really?

Seawolf 05-17-2015 02:48 PM

According to their own press release, the Brembos will be optional on the V6 and 2.0t but standard on the SS. Looks like we have contradicting info.

"All Camaro models offer Brembo brakes – they’re standard on SS – optimized for the car’s mass and performance capability. On Camaro LT, the available brakes include 12.6-inch (320 mm) front rotors with four-piston calipers and 12.4-inch (315 mm) rear rotors with single-piston sliding calipers. Camaro SS employs 13.6-inch (345 mm) front rotors with four-piston fixed calipers and 13.3-inch (338 mm) rear rotors with four-piston fixed calipers."

Someone from GM needs to clarify the Brembo issue. There's conflicting information from like three different GM sources.

I'd have to go with just "available". If you look at the pics of the I4 and V6 cars, they don't have Brembos on them.

Even if its not standard im surprised its even allowed on the 4/6. Kudos to gm for letting build the camaro the way we the people want. A hoped up t4 with mrc and brembos would make a great autocross car.

This is totally true.

I don't know if the brakes are standard or optional. I was told more information on packages and options would be revealed within the next month or two.

However, all of the drivable cars there had the brakes, and I spoke with Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser for a while about this. It seems very clear that for this new generation Camaro, the team has decided not to build a "base model" car...at least not in the stigma that we all know it.

All of the cars are going to be fast, fun, and capable in their own ways. No "cheap, rental car" models. The fact that they're putting awesome brakes on all models (or at least offering them) is proof of that.

I had the opportunity to drive the 2LT, V6 model around the Grand Prix course...more details on that later...For now, as further proof of how they want all models to be great: The cars we drove felt very much like a 1LE in terms of handling and tightness/vehicle dynamics. I'm very excited for the future! :clap2:

Yeppers. The Camaro page on the Chevy website lists as standard on all.
