Why is it so hard to get tracking info here in Canada....

Placed my order at the dealership a few weeks ago, finally got an Order# which could possibly mean nothing if they have no allocations.....The salesman said that they did. I just found out that Joe in the forums here can't track Canadian Orders... Is there a Canadian rep/dealer on here that provides the same service? I do not want to be hounding the dealer weekly and GM Canada only gives generic information when requested.

Any one have any ideas or information?

Best regards,

Jason

If your dealer has allocation and it sounds like they do, your dealer can go on the GM order system called Workbench and track the various stages of the build including the expected production week.
The dealer I dealt with could and provided me in 2018 with tracking info when I asked.

Thanks for the promising words....I know the dealer can do it, I just hope they "have the time" it seems these days that you need to pester and nag them for everything.

I know when my LT1 arrives it will be worth it. Certainly the only one of its kind in my area anyways....

Yeah I heard 8 weeks from the dealer myself which would put it near the middle of April. Fine with me, more time to save up a larger down payment. I dont want it too early because at least for now, this snow is not going anywhere.....lol Unfortunately I only have a 1 1/2 car garage where my 2002 SS sleeps. This LT1 will have to stay out in the driveway, it will be a mostly daily driver, plus I have a 2016 Cruze 6-Speed as my econo/winter car

Well, some good news, I heard back within 24 Hours from GM Customer Care and they said "my order has been accepted by GM and is sequenced for production but no TPW yet" Check back in a few weeks for more information.

This means it is at least at status code 2000

I went to another dealer not the one who got me my car and asked him if he could track my order. He said i dont see it anywhere in the system. Two weeks later my selling dealer called me to say my car had arrived at the dealership. I m in Montreal

You dealer can 100% see all the tracking info. My sales guy updated me on the progress every couple weeks or when there was a change in status.

Canadian dealers get a weekly update on all orders. Could it be somebody is too lazy to provide customer service.
