I figured I would make a post over here, for any of you non Facebook people. I know when i was searching for some other peoples builds, when I first started making to transition over to FI, i didnt find much.
The car was FBO, with the intention of going with a max effort H/C. But I found a sweet deal on a p1x kit and decided to do something different. Which is why some of the mods are a little..... unorthodox for a centri build. Mod list: P1X with stage 2 intercooler (with 3.7 pulley) Ported MSD intake Katech 103mm throttle body Kooks 2" headers Alky control single nozzle meth kit Lt4 low/high/injectors ATI underdrive pulley Pray performance Circle D converter Pray Performance ECM/TCM tuning QA1 driveshaft 15" rear conversion Aerospace front brakes Bogart drag pack with 28" M/T PBRs DSX IAT/Baro breakout The usual weight reduction (3600 lbs raceweight) The car put down a healthy 761 rwhp on 93/meth(SAE on a dyno jet. My car base lined 390 rwhp on the exact same dyno). I was pretty slow in getting it all together and only had one trip to the drag strip to try to get something together. My best of the day was 9.5 @ 140. I had regularly been trapping 144 through out the day, but I might of hot lapped it too many times on that pass. There's still a lot left in the car, as it sits. And I'm contemplating on working some e85 into the fuel for next year. But this goes to show you that you dont need much. The car was built in my single car garage with harbor freight tools. Lol. (With the exception of the converter... I used my friends shop [with a lift and transmission jack] for that. Lol) And done on the stock long block. Havent even had the valve covers off my car yet. |

What crank pulley to go with the ATI balancer , did you go to the 10 rib setup or does the cam lock crank pulley work with ATI balancer? Did you get a different converter or just have yours reflashed? |

Procharger makes a specific crank pulley to mounts to an ATI balancer. Just takes 3 simple bolts. And I'm still 8 rib Circle D was nice enough to offer me a free re-stall. But my original 245mm 5c converter wasnt exactly optional for a FI car. Brett hooked me up with a Pray performancr spec'ed 258mm, and then I sent my old 245mm to get reinstalled for one of his n/a customers. |
Brett's a sharp guy and he learns everyday about these Lt1/4s and what they can handle. He's done a great job with his combinations on a bunch of different cars and yours is one of those, so pretty impressive for sure.

Damn! That's hauling for sure. I loved my Procharger too when I had it matched up with the right converter. The P1x is a nice setup.
