Brake squeal
Does anyone else have an issue with their brakes squealing when coming to a slow stop? It's driving me nuts, it only happens with light pressure and the last 20-30 feet from coming to a stop.

Yes, started doing this about 2-3 weeks ago. ~10k miles on the car, just had new tires put on and they checked brakes but no issues
If I come to a hard enough stop it seems to make it go away but no idea what started it Curious if anybody else has any thoughts/ideas |
Had the same issue with the stock brakes. It didn't do it all the time, but it did on occasion. Changed mine to the Powerstop Z26 pads, due to the brake dust produced by the stock pads, and haven't noticed the issue with them.

MR2620 did you notice any less performance with the z26 pads? i dont track the car but i like how the stock brakes feel/stop |
Have you tried to season the brakes?

Mine have not made a peep thus far. At 5K miles now.
Not sure if the pad compound if different from the SS 1LE to the ZL1 though. |
This can happen if you don't brake hard at least occasionally. Burnishing the pads should do the trick.

I had the same issue. There is a service bulletin about this that can be referenced from this post:
