Working on adding the new rear view mirror
 

So we got our new 2019 car thanks to our dealer (BeckyD@JamesMartinChevy)
and the first thing we did was test fit the new mirror to see if it fits, good news yes it does.

We got a car with out any amenities, we got the car with out any wires to the mirror, so we are stating this project out now, and at the same time going to add a radar detector harness, its going to be fun to make this car our own.

Not quite sure what the intention is here?

What new mirror into which car? Are you talking about retrofitting the electronic rear view mirror from a 2019 into a 2016-2018?

As you know the new 2019 camaros that have a camera used to give you the pic of whats behind you in the mirror, that's the one we are working with, and yes the plan is to install it in older year 6th gen and more GM cars.

That would be cool if so!

I dont know, the price of the mirror is not cheep.

My mirror shows me what's behind me just fine. That is a weird feature to me.

But not to a lot of people, i know on my ZL11LE its needed bad, can only see 1/2 the car at a time with that wing.

I just last week had a 2019 SS 2SS as a rental car, I liked the rear view camera mode. It only activates when you flip the rear view mirror up as if someone is brighting you from behind, you lift the lever up and the mirror goes into rear camera mode. Then you can adjust the height the camera projects and how bright the camera mirror screen is.

This is so you can still see behind you but you are not blinded by the lights from the vehicle behind you.

Will it work on cars that have homelink? As far as I know, the '19 deletes homelink, presumably because there aren't enough ports to connect the rear view camera and homelink at the same time.

That's the plan, we have 3- 6th gens and we are adding it to all 3.
