Back Seat Mystery Solved on ZL1 1LE
So apparently the ZL1 1LE didn't come with fold down seats from the factory; or at least that's what everyone thought.
Apparently it does, check out my video! Now I can fit my canopy in my car to take to the track, especially since the hot weather is well on its way! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx4xBkBrkbA |

Anyway, thanks for sharing. |
Hmm. Well, Thanks for the find. I can haul bigger items now. Thanks.

5th gen Z/28 had the same issue and solution

Here I was thinking they saved weight by removing the seat frame, latch, and hinges. Guess the only weight removed is the latch release strap? Lol! At least it's easy to remove the back seat to actually save some weight if you want.

Can't see the vids for some reason....

And here I was thinking I would use a ZL1 1LE seatback to save weight :pound:

GM engineers are full of shit for sure!!! "weight saving fixed back seats" Great video and thank you for posting. Love how the American car makers make garbage up to sell a product.

Great find! I knew it wasn't a race car! :thanks: :bellyroll:

I find it funny that part of the weight reduction was the fixed back seat. What savings by not putting the rest of latch on it? 1/2 pound? Makes me question the purported thinner rear glass too. I bet all weight saves were tires/wheels and suspension.
Any way I love it and nice to find a little extra. Only used the lay down seats in my 2010 a few times but it is handy. Good job. |
