***Redline Motorsports 2016 Twin Turbo 427 Dyno Report***

1 Attachment(s)
Finally had enough testing on the stock motor with our GEN6 Camaro Twin Turbo system that we decided to drop in the 427 that has patiently been waiting to step in. The turbo's we selected, and used on the base R&D system where intended for this larger and more robust engine so we have been able to take advantage of there breathing potential. This was on 11 lbs of boost for break in.

Should be interesting at the track next week!

Sick numbers

So you guys swapped an LS motor into the '16. I'm kind of curious why not use the LT4? I understand you have more displacement in a 7 liter motor but that is the beauty of forced induction, you can pump more air in a smaller motor and make the same power. Any comments on the thought process?

Bitchin numbers for sure. 9.60's are on the horizon or maybe quicker

I'm kinda hoping it's a 427 LT1. Going to an LS kinda kills what the 6th gen is in my head. It's like putting a big block

I guess I heard 427 and my mind went straight to the LS7 or LSX, I didn't even consider they would have bored out the LT1 but that may be what happened. Hope to get some clarification on this.

If it is not a company secret I'm wondering about compression ratio and boost also on that run?

It is an Direct Injection LT motor....that would make no sense to go backwards and also the new DI stuff is completely different in the controller function. It wouldn't be innovative if we didn't press on!

Compression ratio is about 10.5:1 and that run was at about 11-12 lbs of pressure. Plenty of turbo left to go and a tough enough engine.....just creeping in on it as we are experimenting with a few things..

Nice!! yeah, I'm sure your set-up has 1000-1400 whp potential if you want to run it up.

If you don't mind me asking, have you made any fuel pump/injector upgrades to go over 800 or is it basically stock?

Stock injectors but bigger high pressure pump as well as the lift pump. A lot is also in the injection timing calibration as well.

I'm a little surprised about the stock injectors but glad to hear it. I'm guessing you will upgrade the injectors before you are done modding this beast.

We are systematically working this system to truly quantify where the weak links are in the fuel system. The bigger issue has been pump delivery then injector size.

We also have a supplement system when we run out so we have enough fuel for 1500 HP if needed.

Interesting, over 800 whp on the stock injectors. Thanks for the update. Glad you guys are pioneering some of this stuff.

You can pump air into a smaller motor and make more power,
You can also pump more air into a larger motor and make more power.

There's no replacement for displacement.
