2018 SS A8 "Shudder" Question

Just got my 2018 SS a month ago and have noticed the A8 shudder in 4th & 8th gear when cruising. Dealership claims they've never seen a Camaro have any transmission issues... My question is, what are the long term effects of the shudder? Is it just an annoyance, or will it lead to a transmission failure down the road? Opinions?

Find a new dealer. Do a search. There are multiple threads running right now on this very issue.. it will not fix itself or get any better.

There is a class action suit filed this week for the exact same issue. Find another dealer!

Another shudder thread?

This issue has been beaten to death on this forum with many many threads. Your dealer is either lying to you or incompetent. I truly feel for those who have been struggling to find a solution. Here are the most recent threads.

I convinced them to take a look at it. But my real question is if the shudder is damaging or not? If it's just an annoyance I can live with it for awhile, but if it's going to damage my car I'm will be A LOT more direct with the dealer about fixing it ASAP. Does anyone no what the long term effects are?

It does do some damage to internal parts. Read through some of those threads that Herewego listed for more info.

Ah thanks man, that's what I was looking for. I'll push my dealer a little more when I go in next week to do something about it.

The shutter is actually a problem with the torque converter not the tranny, so maybe your dealer was splitting hairs.
