CamaroFest X - Drag Racing Who's in, What class?

The below poll is just a hypothetical setup for the 7 classes drag racing at CamaroFest X we don't need your why's or why nots or your questions on tire and setup those have already been answered or can be answered in the Official GPI Drag Racing Thread sticky thread doing so and asking here isn't needed.

Simple guideline. No I might be going and might be drag racing. This is you are going and are drag racing.

I will likely not race this year, but if myself or any of the 2010-11 LLT V6 5th gens that have bolt-ons, headers & tune but no FI, engine internals, etc. have to race against unlimited mods in V6/I4 just because we have a tune, we don't stand a chance. Not sure I will race anyway, but I know a lot of 5th gen folks that would fall into the same boat as me. Not sure if any of us of LLT folks will show up to race this year or not, but for sure they won't if they don't have any chance to compete in the category they are placed in. LLT's with bolt-ons, headers & tune are not fast enough to compete with FI even in 5th gens but especially in newer models. Okay, just IMHO.

You know I feel for you immensely on this topic. Here's to hoping we get enough people going so we can separate it all.

What about the 10.0 class Pray Performance is putting on?

I'm waiting to finalize everything so I haven't voted yet but I plan on running v8 supermod

That's a money class has nothing to do with the traditional classes I didn't ad bracket either because you can typically run both bracket and your car class figured the same applied.

So your saying I could run Super Mod, Bracket and the 10.0 class? I doubt there would be time for all.

Gen5&Beyond 02-17-2020 09:15 AM

I’ll be running the 10.0 class and bracket racing.

hrpiii 02-17-2020 10:49 AM

My class is V8 super mods because of the S/C, but I only run in Test N Tune. The other part of the Super mods is "unlimited Mods", and I usually run low 12's, and about every other car in this class is 11's or even 10's....lol.

Not really a chance in heck to out-run anyone, but don't get me wrong... we have a blast running our car in Test N Tune and that is enough for us. I love watching these super fast cars run!!

Hopefully there will be some thought given to the class structure. Lumping a ZL-1 into the supermod class is basically unfair. It discourages people from participating. Lots of ZL-1s at the Fest but few are drag racing as a result.

Few actually drag race anyway. Look at the discussion year in and year out with the V6 classes the issue is just because you went to CamaroFest doesn't mean you actually sucked it up and raced in the class format some go do a few pulls say I'm not good enough and never try again.

Unless something with the nitrous breaks, it looks like I'll be supermod.

Speaking of which, I'm assuming we have up until the first day of fest to finalize classes? I'm not saying I'm expecting something to break... butttttt...

it's not official till you go through inspection. So you have up until that morning.
