Going out to make some passes today at WWTraceway

Going to the track to see if the few rwhp we made with the Ported Lt2 and stock 95 MM show any gains at the track. Will post some numbers later this afternoon.

Hopefully that rain passes and you get some good results.

So I was able to make two passes and yes I sure improved over last time out. Here is my first pass. Car was cooled down cause its been sitting all day. Hooked good and here are the results. I can't get the dam thing to load here at the track

60 ft 1.723
3330 4.920
660 7.543
mph 92.13
1000 ft 9.760
1320 11.644
119.92
Temp 82.0
DA 2681

Second pass not as good but it was only 1/8 mile since I'm running 2 classes. I only had about 25 minute cool down and it just didn't cool off enough and we had a car break when I was 2 back from the burn out box so, didn't take long to get him off the track but it did set there and get hotter since I couldn't get out and open the hood. Plus dumb ass here tried to bring it up to 1500 rpm on the launch and you can see on the 60ft thats where I lost most of my time so I contribute it to too much heat soak and dumb driver. Leaving off idle like I always do for 1st rd of eliminations which should be the next hour. Dam loosing 6 hours because of rain is putting us way behind. Late night for sure. I get the slip loaded in the morning when I get home

60 ft 1.785
330 5.024
660 7.661
mph 91.9

DA and Temp were almost identical.
We did have a 15 to 20 mph head/side wind so could have been affected some. Next pass will be cooler and wind should be down. We shall see

The 1/4 mile passes look like a bracket car. Very consistent. It looks like you picked up what .2?

KingLT1 07-10-2022 09:01 AM

That is pretty close to what I ran when I was mild bolt-ons. Pray Ported LT1 im/tb, flex sensor, rotofab, cat delete pipes. 11.5 @ 120 with a 1.75 60ft on the factory 20's. I would say it's running right where it should.

lt4camaro 07-10-2022 09:04 AM

Some great passes Laynlo, your car is consistant. I see your 60 ft times are right at 1.72s all the time. You have said your launch is right off idle, are you mashing it hard off idle or rolling into the throttle off idle?

Well the best 1/4 in May was 11.78 and 11.79. Conditions were for sure better in May, as the dew point/humidity last night was pretty bad although DA and temps were close to May runs. Then yesterday two 11.64s, mph was down about 1 mph but I think that was all due to some head winds after those storms went thru. In 54 years of drag racing I've probably made a couple thousand passes down the track and sometimes if your running two classes like I do with no more then 20-25 minute turnarounds I have not had a car that won't repeat within a couple 2 to 3 hundredths but this car will turn around and be more the a 10th off just in the 1/8 mile so its getting heat soaked unlike any I've had. I've run true street in my C7 and you can never lift the hood to cool off that car would only run a hundredth or so slower the next pass and all three would be within 3 hundredths.

Yes hammer down, no leaning in to it. My last pass in the 1/8 last night was pretty bad, humidity was 83 %, we were standing in the staging lanes waiting to run and I could feel the dew landing on top of my bald head and windshield. Car felt sluggish at the hit and it showed with a 7.679@93.85 w/60 ft 1.833. Thats my best 1/8th mile so it was starting to pull hard just didn't leave worth a shit.
