The real cost of SS gas mileage.
1 Attachment(s)
Been working from home for the last 6yrs. Drive my SS around 5-7K/mi per year. Gas prices spiked right now, and premium at $4/gallon in some places near me (regular .30 less).
Driving a 40mpg avg car vs a 16mpg car comes to $1102/yr. That's $91/mo extra to drive an SS vs something entirely gutless. 8K mi yr/would be $105/mo more. So if you don't drive tons of miles the surcharge to drive a beast like an SS, does not cost that much. |
I get in the mid 20s (2SS) daily so I don't even see it as an issue. Got one in the garage that gets about 6 so this is my economy car. Lol.

6? Hope it’s a Bugatti. |
Gotta love Commiefornia, last I looked here a few weeks ago it was 2.86.

Gasoline will be going up all over the US after the administration raises the federal gasoline tax and that’s coming according to the people in charge now!

Be ready for $6+ a gal. I get only 12.8 mpg with my driving. Much worse than my modded 2013 C6 Vette. I would avg the same in a 2015 GT stang as well at 12.9mpg. I may go back to a spark once gas is over $4 a gal.

You don't go to Disney World to save money...
You don't drive a Camaro to save money either. |

& you do realize every time you say that you only feed the stereotype, right? “At least the weather is nice.” LOL |

Ok.....guess I'll just keep driving my SS all year round with the windows down. I'll try and find some audio of the snow falling. |
I live in San Diego and actually miss Northern Illinois / Southern Wisconsin (lived in the NW Burbs of Chicago for over 40 years)... About the only good thing here is I can drive my SS year round... The bad things are far too many to list... When I retire, I'm outta Kalifornia...

Finally, someone that takes logs.
Here are my logs, definitely missing some pieces in the entries and only started including the price paid around 8 months ago. Row 2 is averages and further right are some numbers I put on for lols Probably gonna make add another 'total' row for when my 93 octane records start coming in, maybe even another column for octane. Also I have a v6 but I like showing my sheet when I can lol |
