Camaro 2020 on the horizon?

Since the new corvette was announced a couple days ago. Do you think a new camaro, possibly the 7th gen camaro, might be revealed?

Im pretty sure 2020 will be either the same as 19, or an update to the refresh. But I wouldn't expect a 7th gen just yet.

no

I would say 2022 or 2023 for the 7th gen Camaro . I don't think it will be a mid engine Camaro but it will need to be on that level of change to how we know the Camaro now . Good times ahead for sure.

If 2021 we would be seeing camouflaged prototypes about now. 2020? New paint colors tops, maybe the SEMA front fascia.

If 7th gen would be anywhere near 2 years to launch we would have seen fully padded first mules. So my guess is that 6th gen refresh is here to stay for at least MY2021.

Also Ford and Dodge won't release their new cars until 2022/23, so it should be right choice to invest into more technology before releasing the new car too soon. Especially since Europe came up with crazy assistant requirements for new cars that launch after 2022

we would have seen the mules already...so I dont think so.

I’m thinking 2021.

Mules aren’t prototypes. The camouflaged cars are prototypes. Mules would likely just use the current cars body. For example the MULE for the originalATS was a BMW 3 series with the Alpha bits underneath.

Mules are used for chassis development and powertrain work. They dont have sheet metal or interiors at that point. Prototypes do.

For further reference headlamps and tail lights go straight to production tools so can tell how close the prototype is to production by whether it has production lights or just something from the JC Whitney catalogue.

They aren't going to do anything right now to take the spotlight away from their flagship. I'm willing to bet we'll see the actual release of the c8 before we start to hear any tangible news on some new camaro.

I thought most people thought the Camaro might be killed off? Now there will be a 7th gen?

Cadillac just showed the CT5 not long ago:

https://www.cadillac.com/future-conc...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

This is GMs first car on the Alpha2 platform. Next will be the CT4, then, presumably the Gen7 Camaro. So, I’d say 2022MY for the Camaro, but it might be available in 2021.

That is of course assuming the Cadillacs do well enough to not get cancelled.

Also, take a look at the CT5 and compare it to the CTS it replaces. The CT5 has a lowered beltline and higher roof. Looks like GM is finally addressing the usability issue.
