Not mine but it’s VIN 0001
https://www.facebook.com/652883857/p...ibextid=cr9u03 He has more photos and videos on his profile, also mentions Raiti’s Ride’s did a video so that’ll probably be uploaded within a few days |
That's probably a CTF unit which will not be the regular production #001 CE. If the CE ZL1s have a special VIN, the regular production cars will have a 001 as well but there will be a digit that's different in the VIN. I wonder if this one will make it out the public or if it will stay with GM?
Wouldn't surprise me if this is the one that was photographed at LGR a while back. edit, I just checked and the Z4B ZL1s don't have a special VIN in that they won't start at 001 and end at 350. They will be numbered but only on the interior plaque. I'm still betting that one is a CTF or Show Vehicle so I wonder if the VIN is 001 or if has the interior plaque with 001. |
I can see it now, this exact car being on a dealer auction for $300k in a few years
I’m sure with Raiti’s video we’ll have the answer to the plaque number, the car was locked for normal guests but they unlocked it for his video |

(2:45 Timestamp) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zM3defO7LGg 1G1FJ1R6XR0100021 That’s what I could decipher with the video being 480p, hopefully by the morning it’ll process HD (unless the person didn’t film HD for whatever reason). Definitely CTF or show car, whenever Raiti posts his video then we’ll see the plaque |

It wasn't just that one that had the X check digit, there are more CE's that have it. I'm not sure how the remainder part works? https://cws.gm.com/vs-cws/vehshop/v2...FK3D6XR0106191 https://cws.gm.com/vs-cws/vehshop/v2...FK3D6XR0106210 What I did notice is If the 5th digit is a J it's a manual, if it's a K it's an automatic. If the 6th & 7th digits are 1R it's a coupe, if they are 3D it's a convertible. I thought it odd they would use 2 digits to signify coupe/convertible when 1 would be enough. |

Technically, digit 6 alone indicates body type, but digit 7 is dependent on it because of the roof airbag that only fits the coupe. The "X" check digit is not particularly meaningful or special, it simply denotes a "10" because the calculation involves a modulo 11 operation. Model years go in alphabetical order, skipping anything easily mistaken for another letter (for example, MY 2017 was an H, but 2018 is a J). |
