Phone holder (3D print)
5 Attachment(s)
I noticed the console can barely fit a phone and it seems to get really hot, so I made this pocket that slides in the space between the carpet and center console. No velcro or tape needed. I designed it for my iPhone 7 (fits a 5 as shown) and probably fits others.
Inside pocket is ~.4" x 5.4" The files are attached if you want to modify as well as the .STL if you just want to slice and print. Not an M.E., but I like to have fun in Solidworks. If you do make improvements, please post in this thread so everyone can take advantage. Thanks! |

Looks nice and functional. PLA? Looks like no supports needed if printed as pictured.

No supports needed. I tried to make it super simple and easy to print. I went with quarter cubic 50% infill. I originally had 25%, but the piece that gets shoved between the console and carpet would break after several removal cycles. If you don't plan on pulling it out, you could go 25% and save a little print time. I did it in ABS because I already had it loaded for another project. Probably would look nicer in PLA. |
You’re welcome! No sense in trying to make a new wheel. I’ll give this a try one day this week at quarter cubic and 50%. I have ABS loaded at the moment so that’s what I’ll use too.

I'd pay money for one for my iPhone 12! I'm not a 3D printer guy so there is zero chance I'd undertake this on my own.

I just bought a iPhone 12 Pro Max so here is an updated file. It can hold a phone that is 6.5" long. The original Solidworks file and an STL is attached.
It should fit Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. |
that is pretty cool... full size Samsung would be cool, so who is going to sell them LOL...
|
Really nice. A discreet way to store your phone inside the car.

i've been reading more and more about 3D printing. Is there a home printer one of you guys recommend for a beginner? This would be my first project :)
