Infotainment IPod Question

Hello,

Day 5 in new Camaro and when I use my Ipod it plays the 1st song and stops like it's programmed for just playing 1 song. When I use the switches on lower left of the steering wheel I can go to next song.

Could I be doing something wrong, skipping a program step or something?

Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks,

Pat

Mine recently started doing the same thing and it is pissing me off. Each time I start the car and play from the iPod I have to go to menu and turn shuffle back on. It is off, was not always like that. I have not figured out yet what caused the change.

Isn't it weird? Gen 5 no problems. You'd think Gen 6 would be better.

Forget Ipods on the CA6 Camaro, not supported. The software thread link in my sig will give you info on how to build USB drives from iTunes or windows media. I wrote a little Windows App to help you. They USB works great most of the time.

Troubleshooting 101, switched USB cable per the section here on audio, same result.

It is really hard to imagine my 2013 infotainment screen worked flawlessly with Ipod and 5 yrs later the new version has issues.

I have tons of music on my Ipod, 90% of my CDs, purchased music & playlists.

Out of the gate & disappointed in my 6th Gen.

I have no problems with mine. I have an older version, 120GB, with about 120GB on it. I can pick any song or play list without any problems. The only thing I have to do is make sure the volume is at max.

Mine is last Gen Classic 160. Go figure! It plays fine for one song, recognizes the Ipod, shows song info, album art, song progress bar and next song comes up & freezes.

Make sure your iPod setting is not full play. When I put my iPhone 6 music on repeat that’s what happens and so forth. At least that’s how I fixed mine.

Thanks, I'll check.

Good luck. I tried everything. A $20 micro 32gb usb works great. Since Apple gave up on the Ipods, car manufacturers are ignoring them. I still use my 7th gen at the gym. Carrying around a phone there is silly. The best of the Ipods. I have a Classic 160 almost new in a box and waiting till I can sell it for $500 on Ebay. LOL

Another alternative is to copy playlists and folders to an Android and use an app to play the music where ever you want. I use CarPlayList to build a subset of my music to playlists and folders and then just copy it to my G6 32GB card. And then use PowerAmp to run the lists. Works great.

It's a shame those of us who still support the Artists have to struggle to listen to the music we buy from them. Corporations want that money and Apple played along.

Why not just load all of your iTunes music to a thumb drive? I uploaded everything I have to a 32GB Samsung thumb drive and put it in the car. I did not need any special app or program to do it. Everything plays, I see the song info and the album cover. Not sure why this is so hard? The thumb drive was about $12 from Amazon.

Thumb drives probably don't play playlists. I figure just music in order. Tomorrow gonna try my flash base Nano 5th Gen & see what happens.

have you tried to use the ipod with Bluetooth instead of plugging in?

Yea my 60gb works sometimes and sometimes does not show the playlist at all. The ipod is like 10yrs old so whatever
