I adopted this little girl today. Her name is Paula. She had been at the rescue for 3.5 years. She has her forever home now.

Well done.

There are a few kind souls at that rescue to have kept that pup for 3.5 years without having it put down.

A couple of the kennel volunteers cried, they were so happy she has a home now.
The rescue has an alumni group were the pups and families get together for BBQs and socializing.

This is Romeo, he adopted us 3 months ago...........has great taste in cars.

About 3 years ago we adopted a cat, found it in the street. Actually can't say that I am a cat person but at that very moment I sympathised with the kitten so much that was sure I would feel guilty unless I took it home :)

2 retired Greyhounds and a 1.5 year old German Shepherd. 12yo female Greyhound is faster than a 1.5 year old German Shepherd. When the GSD tries to run with the 5yo male Greyhound, it is like a dump truck racing a Ferrari.

I'm a cat person and have always had one or two of them. It seems I usually find them as strays. I picked my current one up where I worked several years ago. She is the best cat ever. She will sit by you for hours, never bites and won't even run out the door if you leave it open. Only thing is she doesn't like to take a ride in the car. Most likely because she probably thinks it is for a trip to the vet.

My son, Little Rickey, gave his cat to his grandma to take care of when he went away to college. When he returned to get his cat back she would not give it to him. Later the cat died. By then mom was living with me and I knew that she would be sad if she knew the cat died so I got another one from a shelter that looked identical to the dead one. I replaced the old with the new and she never knew the difference. In her mind she has a cat that is about 25 years old.

Good job OP. Only a one eyed Dachshund and some chickens here.

Maximilian is my cat. Greatest pet of all time, although I will freely admit to being biased. :D

Tia is my fourth Chihuahua. First three were Taco, Tiffany and Topaz.
