ZL1 1LE resale value

Hi Guys:

I know this is a bit of a vague question but does anyone have any feel for how the ZL1 1Le's are doing in resale. I'm in the Northeast (PA) and cant find any for sale to gauge.

I have one with 2,200 miles and am considering selling it but have no idea what to list it at.

Appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks

One sold on cars.com last week for $54,999. It was a company demo unit with less than 10,000 miles.

Ouch! I'll keep it before letting it go for that.

Thanks for the response.

There's currently a 2018 ZL1 1LE listed here with low miles and has dropped the price down several times to $57500

Gotta remember there's about 15% of value on avg that's lost once it leaves the dealers lot

Just go to carguru.com and check it out. You can get a new 18 zl1 1le for 60-62k right now. There are a lot of used with 2000-5000 miles between 57k-63k. It's definitely a buyer's market right now, especially with the end year into the new year sales.

and winter... being a more summer friendly car.. at least OE tires anyway.

Look at it this way, if all of you didn't pursue great deals every time, they'd have more value. But everybody wants to get them for <$60k brand new and wants to sell them used for $58k. This is how discounts hurt everybody. They hurt OEMs, dealers, and resale.

Now you guys are depressing me. Guess I'm the idiot who doesn't look for the best deal. Bought it at full sticker less a $1,000 rebate Chevy had. It was the only one I could find in the country at the time.

Awesome car and I have never seen another on the road so I was hoping it was holding value better than this. Only considering the sale because I need the cash for another hobby but I'll keep it at those levels.

Thanks for all the input.

As with most things in life, timing is EVERYTHING.

Look at it this way, predicting the sports car market is still easier than predicting the stock market.

Keep it and enjoy it and don't think about the monetary side of it. The ZL1 1LE is meant to be driven and driven hard, otherwise what is the point of having it at all.

I agree, it's pointless to worry about resale. As difficult as it is to not do so since the envelope keeps getting pushed. Making you want to look ahead a the next big thing. You should have seen how hard I was sweating the resale value when the word on the street was that only 750 of them were going to be made.

Seems like that is not the case.

The above advice is good advice, take good care of it, but still take it out and enjoy it. I only put 1400 miles on mine after I got it in May so I didn't drive it as much as I would have like to. That will change next year.

There are now $10,000 discounts on all new 2018 zl1-1LE's

you're joking right?

I absolutely love my ZL1 1LE, but you need to understand that these cars do not hold value. It's not limited edition, they will build as many as they can sell (maybe even more), and it's a Chevy. If you think resale value is bad now, it'll be much worse this time next year as the car will be another year old and there will be newer and better vehicles available. (Especially once the next Z28 is announced or next gen Camaro for that matter.)

On the other hand, check this out... Back in 2016 I bought a GT350-R. I took it to track and generally just drove the piss out of that car for an entire year. Two weeks before the registration came due I sold the car for MORE than I paid for it. Try to do that with a Chevy.

Good news to me about the ZL1 1LE, I want a new hyper blue one, but my earliest purchase time frame will be this time next year, and I plan on never selling. So a 50-55 K would be great for one with 1500 or less miles, CCW you did well on the GT350 R, ! I'm scared of buying a used car just because of what a previous owner might have done, a new 60-62K new is fine with me also. No comment on which will last better /Quality ford or a chevy !
