Do you drive in the rain?
 

Sounds like a stupid question, but my vert is my DD. I have a Tundra as well, and any time I think it will rain, I drive the Tundra instead. (I live in So Cal, so its not that often) Drives my wife crazy, that I "bought a car I don't want to drive", but its still my baby, and I love that every time I go under her (undercarriage), she's more-or-less clean. It really is more of a "I want to keep it clean, inside, out, and under".

Now that she's almost 3 months old, I'm wavering, and think I might bust her rain cherry. Wondering how many others avoid driving in the rain?

Not thrilled about it, would rather drive my truck in the rain, but it's inop at the moment. So, drove the Camaro in the massive rainstorm we had just before xmas.

It did fairly well although it wanted to hydroplane occasionally in heavy puddles on the fwy at 60+ mph.

Overall it did really well. No tire spin from a stop. Wipers and defrosters worked well. Overall, it was decent in the rain for what it is.

Absolutely! I enjoy my car everyday.

Rain, snow, whatever. We bought it to drive, not look at!

Rain yes, snow no. I bought a $1600 beater AWD SUV for that. The salt they lay out here in NYC is ridiculous and will do more damage then anything else. Last car got chips all on the windshield and fenders from a snowplow i couldn't get around... When it snows here in my neck of the woods the streets are covered as the plows don't do the side streets till last. SUV's/Trucks have best chance to make it down our blocks. My Camaro would be asking for a tow quarter way down. LOL

Rain yes. Only because I'm lazy and haven't bought new windshield wipers for my Honda and they don't take any rain water off the window. Once I get the energy to go to autozone and buy some, I'll continue to drive the Camaro when it rains.

You guys in Southern Cali are funny. When it rains there I feel like you guys are afraid to leave the house. I drive mine in the rain and snow on the stock summer tires.

Well, it's scary in SoCal. No one here knows how to drive in the rain and god forbid it snows. 1" of rain and it becomes StormWatch 2017. It's really pathetic.

But with that said, this place isn't designed for large amounts of rain. Roads don't drain well. Intersections flood. Highways flood. It's a mess.

And then again, I used to live in MD. I had assumed folks there could deal with inclement weather. I was wrong. They're even worse than CA drivers.

SoCal here also, but grew up / learned to drive in Illinois. Rain doesn't bother me or my Camaro one bit. I thought for a half-second about driving my old econobox to work the first day it rained this winter, but decided I'd rather enjoy driving my new car instead, rain or no. It's not like the Camaro is going to melt. LOL The only thing that bums me out about the rain is that the car gets a little dirty. But my office building has a great hand car wash service in the parking structure, so I can have them wash it whenever it needs it. Voila, it's clean again! I also think that if I tried to avoid driving it in the rain, I'd be super annoyed if I had driven to work and it started raining for the evening commute. I'm gonna own this car for a long time, and I don't see the point in having it sit unused. :)

Snow would likely be a different story. I do not plan to take this car up to the snow ever. I'll enjoy the twisty mountain roads when they're dry, thank you. If I was going to drive it in the snow though, I certainly would not do it with summer tires on the car. 🙈

Living on the west coast my camaro sees a lot of rain. We only drive it six months of the year, May to October. During a typical rain, when I open my door to get out of the car my legs are promptly wizzed on from the steady stream of water coming off the part where the top meets the window frame. It also leaks into the car until you close the door. Is this a common issue with any soft top? This is the first vert I've owned...

Not to mention the ground doesn't soak up ANY of the water and amplifies the other problems.

That being said, I bought my car a week ago and it has rained about 4 of the days so far and I don't mind driving in the wet weather. I also still ride my motorcycle (my real daily driver) in the rain also. I put the car in ice/snow mode and it behaved beautifully on the slick wet San Diego roads.

No not yet (it drizzled once the last two blocks home - does that count :) ). But its not a daily driver. Im sure it will come.

I bought the Camaro in July and I have never driven in the rain. Unless I get caught in a sudden storm I never will! I have a company truck I drive on workdays and a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon for winter driving.

I've noticed that too with my car. Fortunately for me, I have covered parking most of the time I'm getting in and out of my car, and it doesn't really rain very often down here anyway. I'd be a bit more annoyed by it if I lived in a rainy climate! Never had another vert either, but I'm interested to find out if there is a design method other cars use to mitigate the problem.
