Toyo R888R 14-day Test Period
I've purchased Toyo R888R rears, 325/30R19. I've got two weeks to decide whether to keep or return them. I'll do a 2-day T&T at the end of two weeks.
I would use them on open roads and at the strip, but they are primarily considered road course tires. Several modified Lambos weighing 3500# race them here. I did some nannies-off 60-130 today and didn't feel them spin [like 4S] or vibrate [like MT]. Very impressive, but I did hear a little bit of tread noise. Given the supply issues, I might order the 555RII now just in case I take the Toyos back. Anyone here have experience with them? |
I like them but I havent used the nittos before. They seem to hook great on my stock ZLE above 45 degrees and 35 mph. My only complaint is they howl like a 4X4 tire. As long as I do a good 5 sec. burnout at the dragstrip, they dead hook from a dig. Best 60' of 1.69.

Update Ordered the NT01 325/30ZR19 today and will drive the R888R until they arrive. The R888R's tread is designed for cornering/ racing I don't' do. UPDATE: I stayed with the R88Rs. |
I had zero luck with Nitto’s. Yes my car is loud but I don’t get bothered by road noise with the Toyo’s

I heard the Toyos work okay but wear really fast. They are the go to with ZL1 crowd. With the 17" setup on my A10 ZL1I ran a few 11.1s. |
I'm running Nitto 555RII (newer version of regular 555R). They hold the power well, they aren't loud, and you won't die if they get wet. I wouldn't believe they are a DR based on how streetable they are. I'm not a Nitto fan but I'd buy another set.
I'm currently using 55RII on the rear in 345/30R19 on 12" wide wheels along with 305/30R19 PS4S on the front. |
