Factory ZL1 Rims on a 2017 2SS with MRC - any issues?

Hi all,

I am about to put a set of Factory ZL1 rims on a 2017 SS with Magnetic Ride Control. To the folks who have done this, are there any issues I should look out for?

- Rubbing / Spacing Issues?
- Will the TPMS sensors from the ZL1 wheels work with the SS?
- Will I need to / Is there a way to recalibrate the speedometer?
- something else I haven’t thought of?

Thanks!

Everything will be fine except the TPMS is not compatible

Have a set of ZL1 rims on my SS. No issues at all as they are the same spec as SS 1LE. TMPS just needs to be program for your car.

Thanks!

Calcanuck, that is a beautiful car!

After you put on the new wheels, did you do a front end alignment? Any troubles with rubbing or irregular tire wear?

Greg

Thanks! No trouble with rubbing. I only got an alignment because I was did a track alignment. Changing to the wider wheels will not pack your alignment. This fitment is designed to fit out cars without modification.

Do you have a side picture as I would be curious where the front and rear tires sit. Do they poke out past the fender or are they flush.

Are those 285/30s on the front? I have 275/35, and my wheel gap looks a lot bigger.

Did the tire store reprogram the TPMS or did you have to go to the dealer?

Both should be able to do it, but if neither of these places do it for free you just need a EL-50448 relearn tool. $10 from multiple places online and useful to have if you're swapping wheels/tires on a semi-regular basis.
