Optional Stripes
 

Does anyone know if the optional stripes (I ordered BO4, metallic black Rally Stripes) are installed during the assembly process or after the car is built. At the factory or at the dealership? I ask this because I'm wondering if it will hold up delivery of my Car. I have a TPW of 5/9.

Stripes are done at the factory.

Not to contradict Big Lou, but my understanding is that stripes are applied somewhere in the Lansing/Detroit area, but not at LGR as part of the assembly line.

If you check with JoeP, he can likely give you the specifics. As I understand it (I have stripes), you car will hit 3800 (BUILT) and then very quickly go to 4200 for Intermediate Delivery for the stripes. Assume final delivery will be delayed by about 1 week for the application of stripes.

tommcd24 is right, if i recall they used to drive them to another place and have them installed. I was just meaning they are done up there and arrive at your dealership done.

Same place the 1LE hood wrap is done. It's not on the assembly line, but it will potentially "delay" delivery, as that process can take up to a week or two.

The car was produced 1 week ago and I don’t see any shipping info yet.
I’m also curious if they go off the factory site.
Are they trucked there ?? Driven there ??
How far do they go ??

They are trucked there. It's just down the road from the assembly plant.

So there is potentially a hold up to some degree to get the stripes applied. Interesting!

It's not usually much of a delay due to stripes. Available transports or rail cars is normally the culprit of long shipping times. Stripes and hood wraps are normally done in a a few days.

As Gearhead SS said, a short delay, couple of days maybe.

My car was built (3800) on Nov. 8th.
Nov. 9th it was in intermediate delivery (4300).
By Nov. 16th, it was at the Railyard in Toledo, OH.
So one week from rolling off the assembly line, having stripes applied, and being bayed at the railyard for transport.

Mine made it through the hood wrap surprisingly fast as well
