Production future?
It dawned on me today the ZL1 is the last car GM produces that has the LT4 motor. Do you think the production of this car with this motor will end soon? Before the C8 this motor was also used in the C7 Z06, but with the demise of the C7 do you think sales numbers will be high enough to keep it going?

There's talk of some new models getting the LT4 instead of the Blackwing. For now, it's just talk...

There's no announced plans for Camaro beyond 2023, so that's looking like the end of ZL1 production.
GMauthority did report recently that the CT5-V Blackwing may get the LT4. Beyond mid-decade who knows, GM seems hellbent on going 100% electric in some kind of foolish crusade to flush themselves down the toilet. |

She's the best CEO they've had in a while. Focused on being lean with minimal waste and running a tight ship. She's all about fast cars and technology. Way better than Jim Hackett at Ford who wants to fully go electric across their range. |
GM is a money waster. Stop developing new engines for everything. Drop the LT4/LT5 in all performance models and be done with it.

Time will tell if there is a 7 gen Camaro so we will just have to wait and see!

Also believe they're putting the lt4 in the Escalade now also, remember seeing somewhere you're going to be able to get one with 650hp so I assumed it was the lt4.

And this 100% electric thing....there are some consumers that are not going to by electric because it doesn't make sense for them. What about everybody that does not have a garage? They're going to run an orange extension cord out to their car ever night? That's absurd. That's just one scenario and others can be imagined. So GM is going to probably alienate 50% of their potential buyers by not making any cars those people want. That seems like a smart business plan. I predict we (the taxpayers) will be bailing them out again in 2030. |
