Rear suspension control arm cover??

So my new 2019 2SS had some plastic parts in a bag, in the trunk.
I read the instructions for the front brake cooling and decided I would not need those parts as I will not race the car. Then there were two plastic covers for the rear control arms. Why didn't GM put them on during assembly? I finally found the plastic push pins in the storage area under trunk floor, of course the package had been opened and there were only seven, 8 required. Any comments on these covers is appreciated. |

Thanks.
That's OK, I've already got them on. That is why I don't go back to dealers, you can't trust them to do anything. |
I have these too, but after trial fitting these, the linkage rods attached to the control arm for the sway sensors are in the way. Did you cut the covers to clear these?

No cutting. Mine didn't interfere with anything, all holes lined up nicely and fit seemed good.

My dealer denied it was on the PDI document. I installed them myself without any clearance problems.

Thanks for this thread! I just got home with my 2023 2SS yesterday and found a bag in the back with the floor mats, owner's manual, fuel funnel, tow loop, front wind deflectors, and rear control arm covers in it.
I actually noticed from the pictures on the dealer's website that the front deflectors weren't installed. Before I took the car, I asked the sales manager why they weren't there, and he said, "I guess they didn't come from the factory." Uh...thanks. Easy to install...I'll do it myself, since the dealership is 50 miles away. (I had to buy the car there...they were the only ones with the options I wanted.) Of course, the track parts and front license plate mount were in the truck, too...but that's where they're supposed to be. |
