2019 Camaro 2SS paint correction and ceramic coating
A forum member contacted me about paint correction and ceramic coating on his black 2019 2SS! This was the first 2019 that I have gotten my hands on. I really like the flow tie bow tie. I didn’t think I liked it in pictures, but it looks great IRL. The car had the usual swirls, scratches and etchings. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...fc2c5a5b_b.jpg A foam bath and clay bar treatment removed the bonded contaminants. The wheels were extremely dirty, but I was able to get them back to new condition since the car was so new, the brake dust was not baked on yet. I forgot to take pictures of the wheels but they looked awesome. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...294cf02a_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...0c5e6649_b.jpg I polished out the swirls, scratches and all but 2 small etchings that need wet sanding. I don’t feel that they are obvious enough to start wet sanding a 2019 car. Hopefully now that it is ceramic coated, there won’t be any more etchings! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b2ba8a0f_b.jpg I applied 2 coats of CarPro CQuartz to the paint. I used Chemical Guys HydroSlick Hyper Wax on the windshield and Gyeon WetCoat on the wheels. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...3d952161_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...ed545a69_b.jpg Tools and products: Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss shampoo Adam’s wash mitt AVA Prime Cyclone mitt Chemical Guys foam cannon Theragcompany Dry Me a River towels Generac gas power washer Chemical Guys Decon Iron Remover Meguiar’s Wheel Brightener Stoner Tarminator TufShine tire cleaner Power Wheel Woolie Dewalt cordless drill TufSHine tire brush Atlasta brush Viking Wheel Stick Gyeon Wet Coat Meguiar’s Insane Shine tire coating Chemical guys microfiber applicator Optimum no-rinse clay lube Bilt Hamber clay regular 3M automotive masking tape Makita PO5000C Dual Action Orbital Polisher 5” Chechnya Tools 21mm Dual Action Orbital Polisher 6” Meguiar’s M110 Pro Speed Compound Meguiar’s M210 Ultra Pro Finishing Polish Chemical Guys Orange Hex Logic Pad Chemical Guys White Hex Logic pad Chemical Guys Speed Wipe detail spray Theragcompany Eagle Edgeless towels Chemical Guys WipeOut surface cleaner CarPro CQuartz ceramic coating CarPro suede applicator Theragcompany Everest 800 towels Kleen Strip Prepall Heavy Duty Glass Cleaner Theragcompany waffle weave glass towels Chemical Guys HydroSlick Hyperwax ceramic coating |

How much? |
What is the typical (reasonable) charge for this type of service? I'm in SoCal and taking delivery very soon, would like to get Ceramic coating applied...

I just checked my supplier and my cost is $88/gallon. That's twice what I pay for 1 step polish. I'm sure it's good. If I could afford it I would use Wolfgang Uber, but it just doesn't make sense. I'm in a small market on the low end of prices for detailing. Meguiar's D166 ($45) is awesome at half the price. Meguiar's D151 ($28) is very good but it dusts in hot weather. Sonax Perfect Finish my cost is $250/gallon LOL! |
Very Nice
Finish looks great.

I'm scared to get quotes in So Cal, we should start a fund to fly Kirk out for the weekend, he can do a bunch of cars, make some $ and get some surf while he's here. . .
