1LE Hood questions

I like info about the 1LE hood. I'm not crazy about the color of the hood. Is the hood painted? Is that a wrap on the hood? If so I'd have it removed when I buy my 1LE

Its a wrap. Not too hard to remove it.

Yeah.
It’s a wrap over a normal painted hood.

Peel it on a nice sunny day, remove the hood liner and intake scoop(s), grab an edge and get busy. I removed mine within an hour of buying it, way too rice for me and I think the car looks much better without. YMMV

Sweet so theres body colored paint under there? I was about to post seeing who would want to trade hoods with me.

While i like the black hood, i'm wondering if it should be removed/rewrapped in a few years. I've read stories of paint pealing off when the wrap is left on for a very long time on other cars (not camaros).

Yes. There is the factory paint that is the color of your car. Its just a wrap.

Just a wrap, body color underneath. It cuts down on the glare off the hood so I'll be leaving it.

This question has been answered several times in various threads, we really should ask people to search and read instead of populating more pointless threads. For amusement, I went to Google and typed his question. I instantly got several links (many from this Forum) answering the question, none of which even required me to enter the link.

I wouldn't say its pointless. Sometimes people would rather ask the question themselves, then look it up because there could be various different threads leading him the wrong way. To the OP, if you don't like it, just simply peel off! Just like Warrior said, on a hot day removes the scoop and peel back. Or if you want it gone quicker either use a heat gun gently or blow dryer to heat up the material to make it easier to pull (also easier to rip/stretch) and have at it!

I've been on the fence about removing mine, but have been hesitant due to this.

Can someone who has peeled theirs off tell me, is the difference with the glare that big after you removed your wrap?? I don't really hear anyone complaining about the glare on non 1LE's.

I have my stock hood in storage, I put a carbon fiber hood on that has much better heat evacuation from engine compartment vs stock hood. It is clear coated and I have not had any issues with glare from hood on any track day.

I never noticed or was bothered by glare, I believe the angle of attack is too steep to reflect back at you. There are some interesting lines in that hood the wrap diminishes, 1LE without the smudge collector.
