New owners: check your warranty start date
When a car is hot/short supply it causes SOME dealers to do some strange things in reporting sales to GM.....
Some dealers will "pull ahead" a sale that they know is going to go down in another couple days, and usually that happens towards the end of the month. They also will pull ahead to do the "on star track my car" thing. Dealers will sometimes pull ahead at the end of the each quarter, and at the end of the year. Sometimes at the urging of various GM staff. So how can you check to see if your warranty started on the day you took delivery? Just go to https://my.chevrolet.com , add your car VIN, and go to the bumper-to-bumper warranty section. Compare that date to the date you took delivery. If it's not the same, you might have a conversation with your dealer. WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT IS WHEN YOUR WARRANTY ENDS..... It will tell you here: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...%206/image.png |

More dealer shenaigans:
There is another little trick that unscrupulous dealers will do if you haven't sat down and executed a buyers order. If you dont have hard copy that delineates the EXACT charges of everything, and you wait till the car comes in , the dealer knows he can bump/add to the price a little bit . Why? Because you're so hot to get the car that you'll except another 100/200/600/whatever charge for something stupid like nitrogen, paint sealsnt, etc!!! BECAUSE YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH THE CAR.. this was recently done to somebody here, when he went in to get the car , they added a $600 bogus charge , because exact charges were not discussed at the time of the order. no buyers order was written and signed. I might add they try this on youger buyers that they know are chomping at the bit, e.g. those that call every day seeing if the car is there yet, etc... Naturally this for the first time you've dealt with this dealer, all this goes out the window if you're buying from the same guy over and over, that guy you can trust. |
Bump for new owners

Good Call Glen never thought to look. ALthough my dealer set mine up on 12/24 the day I took delivery. Was your example of your car?
