interior Door Handle

So today, my passenger gets in, closes the door, and has blood coming out of his finger from the peeling fake chrome on the door handle pull inside. The sharp piece of fake chrome sliced his finger.

Anyone else have problems with their interior door handles?

Never had that happen. I think the door handles are actual real aluminum if I’m not mistaken.

This does not make sense. Why was your passenger pulling on the door release to close the door? The door pull piece doesn’t even have chrome on it. At least my 2018 SS doesn’t.

Mine was like that too on the passenger side of my 2017. I used a fingernail file to remove the sharp edge.

He pulled the door handle to close the door because it was open all the way to the third detent and he chose to pull that.

Correct, it's not chrome, it's plated in plastic that looks like chrome. A sharp piece of this fake plating became loose and sliced his finger.

I think this is a problem on most GM vehicles that use that horrible cheap chrome plated plastic. My moms 07 Tahoe has had all 4 interior handles replaced twice, the current interior door handles are all peeled and they look horrible.

I have the same problem, the piece is cheap, but do you know if it is easy to replace?

Held in by 3 rivers, have to break them to take just that part off. No one sells just the handle and it has no part number. Best cast is paint or wrap it sadly

YES. Drivers side on my 17. Looks like crap
