Installed vert dashcam

I just finished my dashcam hardwire and it went super smooth. The unit is a Goluk T3 and the hardwire kit is an EDO Tech.

Special thanks to MattDinOC for the tips provided here to pull the trim apart.

Is there a separate module that contains the SD card? Nice install BTW!

Thanks! The card slot is next to the USB power connector.

Really like how clean this is. Any more details on how you did it? How you ran the wires, connections, etc?

Sure. After removing the 4 screws behind the visors the top trim becomes lose. Then pull the A pillar with trim removal tools. Route the wire and leave some slack, you can pull it later on to desired length. In the A pillar, the harness that will be exposed behind the trim has a series of wires. I used a multi-meter to find one that gets power when the engine is running. Found a purple wire that did exactly that. Second wire from the right on the bottom row that has like 7 cables. That's the one I tapped. Again, I wanted the cam to power on with engine only. If you plan on running it constant 12v or ACC you will need to find another wire in the harness to tap.

After you position the cable inside the upper trim and pull it to desired length, put the 4 screws back in. Route it as you wish so it reaches the harness. splice or tap with whatever method you prefer. When done there will be a LOT of slack. I didn't cut it because I didn't want to mess with the inline fuse holder. I just looped it a few times over and everything fit behind the A pillar trim, so no problem there.

Nice! I still need to find the time / courage to route my rear camera wire through the trim and up to my dashcam. I'll take more pics when I do that. I also need to replace the hardwire power supply with a better one because my cam keeps shutting down at random times. :( When I used the OEM cigarette lighter power source instead for a week, no issues. I couldn't stand having the cable dangling down through the cabin, but it was a good way to find out what the problem was.
