Had to pick one.

Ok let's say you had a blue 2016 blue 2SS and had to pick between either a front fascia or the new darkened tail lights, which would you choose? Also what does the dealer roughly charge to install the fascia?

HumanWiki 08-30-2016 02:15 PM

Probably the front fascia. You can tint the rears and get a similar effect for much less $$$ than the dark tails. You get both for overall less money.

I just got my darkened tail lights and they look way cooler in person. They're well worth the money, but don't buy direct from Chevy/GM. You can get them cheaper on shopchevyparts.com. And if you just install the front splitter yourself, or find a buddy who's handy and appreciates cheap beer, you will still be able to afford the tail lights with the money you didn't fork over to the overpriced dealer.

Agreed^

Easy install..... Get the tail lights too!

kropscamaro16 08-30-2016 02:45 PM

both lol

Splitter...I don't see the fascination with these dark tail lights. Reminds me of the clear "Altezza" faze of the last decade...

Well it looks like splitter wins hands down lol, the toughest choice is either painted blue to match or going with black!

Painted tail lights look just like what they are, painted taillights, They do not even come close to looking as good as the darkened GM lights. Have not seen any painted ones that look good.

I didn't say painted. Just tinted. I personally don't think the dark ones look all that nice and think tinting the light areas is fine. I also don't see that the set is worth what's being asked.

sorry, didn't mean to put words in your mouth. But to me it's the same thing. painted if done right looks way better then tinted. but still looks cheap. The tailights are more then worth the money IMO. It's a similar cost for the piece of plastic on the front of the car which is far less attractive. and has virtually zero function. I just dont get spending the type of money on these cars and then wanna be cheap on mods.

Fascia in body color
