I haven't seen a single sports car at my local dealer for 2 years. Crazy sitting on a few here apparently.

Is that the Chevy dealer in Rogers?

$35k for a 10-13 Camaro SS?

Horrible Roads = Less Sports Cars

With the "Oregon Trail" roads here on Long Island, rising insurance rates, crappy north east weather and seemingly increased police traffic stops - I am thinking of selling ALL 3 of my sports cars, keeping my Gen 1 Raptor, and purchasing a Bronco Raptor as my "convertible." Less maintenance, insurance and upgrades. I can also earn interest on the money remaining. Moreover, I can actually drive on the trails ... I mean "roads" without just staring at the road directly in front of me in order to try to avoid the inevitable potholes. Having sports cars my entire (long) life and currently owning a 911 Targa GTS, SE Miata RF and Camaro SS vert, and considering the amount of State/ local taxes collected, I find this situation sad and unwarranted.

Sports cars don't sell well in the Winter, especially in cold climates. Spring will change the market.

That's a 2010 Camaro in Aqua Blue Metallic. Rare color that they stopped making even before the end of the run for the 2010 model year. Less than 4,000 of them made in that color. I had one. Really liked it. Nice bright metallic medium blue in the sun. More of a teal color in the shade, such as in the image above.

The color makes it a rare car.

But it's not worth that...that's crazy.

My local (small) dealer has 3 white C8s and one new Gen6.

EDIT:

I was wrong. Between new and used, they have 4 Gen6 Camaros, and 4 C8s.

They are out of their effing minds, like 98% of these scumbag dealers. I can't wait for this antiquated dealer model to go extinct. Dealers really serve no useful purpose, nothing the OEM could not do 10X better and more efficiently.

My fondest "stealer" memory when I was a young man- Datsun had suddenly become Nissan and produced the 300ZX in 1984. I wanted one and tried to negotiate a fair deal. After implying we could likely close, the sales guy came back and said I wasn't offering enuff for his "manager". We went back and forth for hours but it was never enuff.
The guy could see I was ready to walk so he played his last card. "Well," he said, "maybe this is just too much car for you". I'm sure my eyes flashed, and I was taking a deep breath to say "Oh Yeah!", and then his ploy became apparent to me. So instead, I said, "Maybe you're right" and I stood up, smiled and walked out with his mouth gaping like a guppie out of water. It was a good day after all.

I actually don't know what a 3,500-mile 2010 Camaro SS in Aqua Blue goes for, maybe BaT or Cars/Bids would have some good comp data.

I've actually purchased a car from Miller (the location in St. Cloud) and they were decent to work with. I'm not a fan of dealers but I don't think asking $35k makes them "scumbags" lol. The car could be on consignment and the seller may be unrealistic, or their willingness to deal on it may become apparent in an honest conversation with the right person. Wouldn't know until you asked.
