Finally ready to trade up, give me your opinion.
Been thinking about trading up my 2010 IBM 2LT RS for a while now. A local dealer has a 2012 IBM 2SS RS coming in later this month. Along with the RS Package it has a sunroof, hurst shifter, and silver stripe package. MSRP IS $39,880. He has graciously offered a $500 discount gettin it down to $39,380. From what I've read GM Supplier Discount can get it down to $38,674, still not much of a discount. Any suggestions?

$500 off MSRP is a crappy deal, they're already trying to screw you on that. Your car will be easy to sell used with such low miles. They'll make a killing off you if you don't negotiate pretty hard.
Why don't you just put your car up for sale and negotiate a better price on the SS? You should be able to sell it pretty easily with such low mileage. |
Do you owe anything your Camaro?
|
I gotta have blue. That's my color! I owe $13K on my car. I'm looking for around 22-23K for a trade in. Selling it out-right would be the best financially but I don't want that headache.

I want to work on the best price for the SS, then worry about the trade in on mine.
|
oh my gosh, biggie you already changed your tag to 2013 blue 2SS.
see, it's meant to be. you'll see. you will submit!:paddle: |
Always works if you talk to them, but seeing as trade-in fever has already set in, it kinda seems like your at there will a little. :iono:
It comes down to your ability to haggle, and keep in mind that they need to sell the car more than you need to buy it. And your playing the game right so far though, by working on 1 number at a time. I wish you the best of luck! Cheers. |
Trade in fever is there but under control. I'm pretty good at walking away. I have a beautiful 2010 2LT RS that I'm not gonna give away. If I can't get the numbers I'm looking for I will keep my baby and walk away. If the SS sets on the lot long enough, they have my number.

Thought the same thing when I was trading for my 1ss, wife put her car on craigslist for book, sold the next day. Luck? who knows, but kept the dealer from stealing it from me. and cost, nothing.
