Available 9.17.18
CarPlay now supports third-party navigation apps, giving drivers even more choices for a familiar experience on the dash while they drive. https://www.apple.com/ios/ios-12/ https://www.camaro6.com/forums/data:...AAAElFTkSuQmCC |
Has not shown up in any of the betas to date :-(

WOO!! Apple iOS12 To Allow Third-party Navigation Apps In CarPlay - Available 9.17.18
The ability is enabled in iOS 12 (even the betas) but it is up to the app developers, specifically Google for Waze and Google Maps, to update their apps accordingly for comparability.
As a beta tester for Waze, and an iOS 12 beta user, the compatibility ability for Waze, and Google Maps, has not yet been updated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I've been using Waze and my Garage Door Opener app on CarPlay using a jailbroken iPhone (11.3.1) and the CarBridge tweak for a couple months. Works pretty well.

Here Maps is good I had it on my Windows phone, got it on my iPhone now, I used it on vacation a few times never got lost & you can use it walking to and use it offline so no wasting data like other maps.

Apple is currently rebuilding their Maps from the ground up. That's how helpless the current app is.

Also my street was built two years ago and Google Maps has displayed my street for a little over a year, Apple Maps still doesn't have my street. |
I noticed today when I updated to the public release, a lot of apps updated. So fingers crossed Waze releases their update soon, before the public release
