2019 V6 Non NPP Exhaust
 

So here is the deal, I am looking around for quotes at shops now but my plan is to get the American Thunder axle back system from flowmaster. That by itself I think sounds good from what I can hear on other YouTube videos. But I am curious... should I do a second cat delete?

Is there anything else I can do down there to help with the sound? I don't want straight loud pipes, I want an aggressive sound. Also does anybody know what I should expect to pay?

2019 3LT V6 RS. Non-NPP. No other performance mods.

So I found I could buy the same flowmaster mufflers for $85 a piece, and the tips for $75 a piece. (Actually $45 for the regular polished tips but $73.53 for the ceramic black) for the So before installation that would save almost half. Would it be a better option for me to buy this and take to a shop and have them take it from there?

usually "kits" are higher price because they allow at home installation without welding.

If you want to pay or have your own ability to weld or really like having everything band clamped (hope not), then buying the mufflers and just using quality mendral bent tubing etc...would be much more affordable.

If you planned on having someone else install the exhaust anyway, then sure, go with the parts and have a trusted guy weld you up a system.

They may or may not be keen on removing your cats since technically they're not allowed to but you live in georgia so they probably dont care. Just know, you can get _PLENTY_ loud and deep and angry sounding with the cats and even that crap x-pipe resonator with the right mufflers. With zero rasp and pops and crackles.


welding is one of the few parts of automotive repair that seems to be honest in what they charge for work. At least in my experience. But it's a skilled job that's basically an art. So while you can get good people for cheap, I'd look for independent places with good yelp reviews that specialize in exhaust. Expect around 200 if you supply all the main components. (it shouldn't take longer than 2 hours to cut the old exhaust off and install the new one )

Awesome, thats some good news. I will try to go to the shop and get a price quote, but there is a muffler shop around here that has always been super trustworthy an honest so im comfortable with that. Also I dont have any way to weld at home and while im comfortable taking my car apart and putting it back together, exhaust isnt my thing.

I will ask about buying the new mufflers and tips and how much that would be to have installed VS having them install the kit. Any bit of money I could save to get the same result would be helpful.
