2019 10 speed opinions so far?
 

I'm curious as to what folks who have the 2019 SS with 10 speed auto think of the combination thus far? I steered clear of the 8 speed cars because of the known issues and inability of GM to resolve said issues. a competent 10 speed might lure me back to the Camaro world.

Have yet to drive a 2019 with the ten speed. Although I’ve driven my bothers 2018 mustang PP1 with the ten speed. Have nothing but good to say about the ten speed! It shifts so smooth and fast. Hard to believe that GM and ford developed this badass trans!

It rips shifts. No more AFM shudder either, everything is super smooth and seamless.


Knows exactly what gear it wants when it needs it and for how and what mode it's being driven in.

Im a week in ownership and today and I was playing with the tranny in manual mode and it has very fast upshifts. But just living with it in auto mode the past week I have been very impressed. I opted out of a 2018 for the 10 speed transmission, so far no regrets. My last car was an RCF with the Aisin 8 speed tranny and I actually think the GM is better. Is this the same tranny in the mustang & zl1?

It's the same tranny as the mustang but not the Zl1.

By chance did you live in Zephyrhills, Florida area at some point?

Funny, If you go on the mustang Forums all you read is complaining about the 10 speed transmission, and all the trouble there having.:iono:

GM and Ford have their own programming for the trans. Just like the 8 speed transmission itself is a strong great trans, it's the programming that causes it to shudder and turn to crap.

ZL1 A10> tuned A8> stock ss A10 > stock SS A8. The 8l90 is a beast transmission that was tuned like shit. The SS A10 is not as strong but has much better tuning. If you plan on staying stock, the A10 is a good choice...if you plan on modding, then nothing wrong with the A8.

Somehow I don't think GM would make the new A10 on par with a tuned A8. Who knows
