Z/28 engine revealed?

Can this be the new engine in the new Z/28?

LT376/535

Dead link?

Maybe this one works? http://www.chevrolet.com/performance...lt376-535.html

Basically a hot LT1 which is what I thought would power a Z/28....very interesting

Your title stating 'reviled' made me wonder what about the Z/28 engine would be hated/reviled? I think you meant 'revealed'?

First thing I thought when I saw that.

Could definitely be a Z/28 powerplant. Also, possibly for the Corvette Grand Sport in MY2018?

Looks healthy for sure.

No... Similar maybe. But they wouldn't release it as a crate engine first. Wouldn't make sense to sell it as a crate engine then compete with the aftermarket demand while trying to build cars. This was probably a byproduct of the development that went into making the new power plant but I seriously doubt this is it.

Very interesting. It's still at 11.5:1 compression. I wonder how much they could gain going to 12 or 12.5:1, if that was possible.

I definitely understand!

There hasn't been a good GM engine leak in a while. Last I can think of was the LT4 a few days before the Z06 reveal or the TTV6 on the engine test stand.

If an engine is listed as being for classic cars & off-road use, there is an extremely good chance that its not emissions compliant. That and the fact that they didn't make any mention of it being 50 state legal.

So unless the Z/28 is an unregisterable track only car like the COPO, don't count on this engine being under the hood.

If that is the case on this engine, then I think that should help people realize the car wont have a 550-600HP N/A engine.

But I could see something along the lines of this engine being in the rumored Z/28. With how good we have seen the 1LE and grand sport do with the LT1. They really don't need a ton more power to be some of the most track capable vehicles. I think anything over 500 would suit a Z/28 just fine

the emissions compliant recipe used previously was a small cam in a 7.0L that should take the "LT1" to 550hp
