Nelson Ledges - Considering going in 2019

I'm in the Detroit Michigan area, and am looking to expand my horizons just a little. I've done multiple HPDE's at Waterford, Gingerman, Grattan, and last year I finally ventured out to Mid-Ohio (definitely need to do that again!).

To anyone who has been to Nelson Ledges in the last couple years:

How is it, and how does it compare to the above? (Recommended?)

Which hosting organizations are the best/safest/cheapest? (I usually only do one day events, and looking to get the most seat time for the $$$).

I have a friend who went there. It has been repaved recently, I think. I know he enjoyed the track. I've not been there, so I cannot comment.

Auto Interests runs a few events there. They are a good group:

To me, it looks like a Waterford-type of track. Not really one that you'd go out of your way to try, but will frequent if it's a home-track.

FYI, I am in the Metro Detroit area and looking to do (at least 2/3 anyway) Mid-Ohio, Road America and Watkins Glen this season. Amoungst that, Grattan (need to put down a better time in the 1LE), Gingerman (need to put a time down in the 1LE) and repaved Waterford.

Nelsons is my first track (many years ago). Backstraight is a lot of fun. I have been told that the repave improved things quite a bit and I haven't talked to anyone that wouldn't go back since driving it since the repave. I haven't run there since the repave but plan to, time permitting.

Cheapest events will be run by the track.

If you go a little further you could also consider Pitt Race (formerly BeaveRun):

https://pittrace.com/

On the main page, if you hover on "Performance Driving", then hover on "Performance Events" within that, you can see the organizations that run events there (in addition to the track run events). There is also a calendar but it is a little clunky.

Pitt Race is almost as good as Mid Ohio and has better facilities.

The repave made it much better. The track is not as fun to drive as Pitt Race or Mid-Ohio.

Definitely considering pittrace now. Who knows, maybe I'll find time to hit them both this year!

Pitt Race is on my list as well.
