First 100 mile thoughts from prior C6Z owner

I'm loving my new hyper blue ZL1. I thought I'd give initial impressions coming straight out of my H/C/I C6Z.
Pros:
-Light years better interior comfort, support and materials. The tech is remarkable and I haven't even scratched the surface yet. The seats hold me like a bear hug and cools me well in the hot FL summer.
- It feels like it was carved from granite, very tight chassis. The A10 is interesting. Cruising away from a light is seems to shift 4 times in 100 feet or so and is unlike any auto I've ever driven. I can't wait till it breaks in so I can feel the power delivery compared to my old 550whp C6Z. The suspension still booms a little over bumps in touring mode but definitely livable and corners flat.
-It looks amazing in person. Pictures don't seem to do any justice. The C6Z looked great in pictures by comparison. But I haven't gotten the attention like my ZO6 did strangely so far.

Cons:
- Needs lumbar support.
- Averaging 13 mpg ugh. I heard driving in winter mode helps. Is this true?
- Viability and trusting the sensors while switching lanes is a bit scary.
- Pretty numb feel compared to the ZO6 but I'll have to asses when I push the car plus the ZO6 had coilovers, sways and wilwoods not stock.
- Lags under soft throttle. It seems I have to squeeze the throttle quite a bit more for it to move unlike the C6Z and a lot more than my turbo SUV. It almost feels like it's dragging something compared to the others.
- If feels heavy around town. I'll see how it tracks soon.
- I'm not sure yet the best way to get in and out. You need to clear the rockers, thick frame and bolstered seat, to be expected.
- The HVAC was better in the vette but the cooled seats do help.

Overall I loved the first 100 miles, great car.

Nice comparison review. Everything is pretty much spot on. Many complain about visibility, but I've never felt it's an issue. Maybe because I continuously check my mirrors being used to driving a work van every day with no rear windows at all and no blindspot warning, which works perfectly on the Camaro.

Drawing looks seems to be oddly sporadic. Sometimes it's like no one notices you, then other times you get stares, thumbs ups, picture taking, etc.

The heavy feeling you describe, I feel will go away once you pick up the pace and open her up. The torque of the LT4 with the combination of the 10 speed is really something else.

I can't say if winter mode helps fuel mileage because I've never used it, but these cars get really good mileage out on the highway. I've averaged 28.9 over a 25 mile stretch and can easily average 27. I even got 23 mpg running 90 mph trying to make it to Camarofest in time for the final round of qualifying Saturday. Now if you do a lot of city, stop light to stop light driving, 13 is about as good as you'll get.

I would like some lumbar and side bolster adjustability, but I find the seats perfectly comfortable the way they are, so that being the case, it's probably best they left that feature out, because it would add lots of weight to the already heavy seats.

Getting in the car, I put my hand on the the seat bottom bolster to make sure I don't drag myself across the leather that would definitely show wear over the years if I didn't do that. Getting out, I put my hand on the sill plate and lift myself up as I roll over and out.

Congrats on the car and welcome to the Camaro family!

I think MPG improves with miles.
I'm getting 13mpg driving like a dick all over the place, LOL

I had a C6Z a few years back also. Got rid of it when all the valave dropping started popping up. It pissed me off that GM would never admit to the problem and give us a solution. It was an awesome car though. I would love to have one again now that there seems to be agreement on what stops the LS7 from destroying itself. My A10 gets 18-20 mpg consistently. I lift my feet extra high to clear rockers and also have paint protection film on them. And lack of visibility is just a part of having a sports car nowadays. Also, at least this one has an awesome blindspot monitoring system. I dont remember the vette being any better and it had no blind spot monitoring to help out.

Throttle lag absolutely. I’m sure GM did that, not the smartest people buy these. I’m kidding, If you can go into track mode and push the traction control button twice. The track menu will come up. Try out those settings & I am sure you will be impressed.

let her get past break in mileage goes up the lag gets less noticeable the A10 is a rocket MPG gets better I get mid 20's if i get off it city 13 but I do remember paying the guzzler tax for a reason oh yeah it goes fast lol... visibility got used to using the monitoring system gets funky in hard rains though. great write up OP. I some days get the stares but definitely it is hit or miss but people notice when you remote start it and it roars to life people look...

Pleas warn a fellow Jets fan out prior to making him spit his coffee out... HAHA

HVAC is in no way better in a C6 Corvette. Nonsense.

I drive in track mode everywhere except for long highway. No perceivable lag. I have averaged about 16.7 MPG over 15K miles with my 2017 with a lot of city driving and a bunch of Autocross competitions.

Ported throttle body and cai really help the lag... When you can start using the "performance shift mode" you'll love the A10!

Track mode seems to be even more of a linear throttle, so I leave mine in Sport and enter "Competitive Driving Mode".
