In two years I may be in the market for a new Gen 6 car:)

Ford just re-did the Stang and Fiat will probably have an all new Chally and Charger around then.

No, I'm looking forward to seeing what they will be like!!

You think you got it bad, those folks eagerly waiting to order a 2015 are going to be either very glad they ordered one now or saddened by they didn't wait another 12 months. Depends on how well the 6th gen turns out. Only time will tell.

can't wait to see the '16 model, but personally don't think it's going to be another 'home run'...

thats the way vehicles work, you get a life span of around 7 years, with some sort of model refresh about halfway through

the cobalt had 5 years I believe
The canyon / colorado had 8 years (Added v8 and some styling changes about 5 years in)
the previous generation silverado had 7 years (some interior changes as well as changes to the grille on upper models)
the generation before that had 7 or 8 depending on if you could the 2007 classic model
the camaro is on track for 6 years (the redesigned front & rear)

as you can see it's pretty normal

A V8 Colorado/Canyon?

I thought they only came with 4 or 5 cylinder engines?

I could see a home run, only, and I mean ONLY, if they go the whole retro look and lean heavily on the early second gen for inspiration.

5.3L V8 was added towards the end of the production run.

6th gen can't come soon enough. Especially with a new Mustang right on our heels.

That was a well kept secret.

They needed a small V8 truck back in 2002 it would have sold like hot cakes.

Its easy,... gen5 has been by far the best advancement in Camero history.

Gen6 has big shoes to fill, and I dont think caddy platforms will do it easily.

My thoughts are that gen 5 will not rely on gen2 looks,.. post pending 1969 gen 5 filibuster "feels me's" in 2014.

6th gen cant come fast enough, I was excited about the camaro design when I first saw it...at the auto show in 2006. three years later the 2010s started rolling out in late 09 and to my eyes they kept it pretty damn close to the concept. the 14' refresh isnt anything drastic to my eyes, but it was needed IMO. to me and I know this is a very unpopular statement around here, the 5th gen design is getting stale. I can't wait to see what they do with the 6th gen.

lscamaro 05-27-2014 10:42 AM

I think it's time for a 6th gen. It doesn't feel like it but then 5th gen has been around for awhile now. Gotta do something new. Sadly I don't think GM will do as well as they did with the 5th gen but I'll be waiting to see if I buy a new camaro or corvette next
