Awesome, hopefully I'll see you out there. |
I ran a new best @ Pitt Race, 2:00.63. Last full lap of the day. Car was starting to understeer as the RE71R’s where starting to overheat. I made a few mistakes also. Sub 2:00 is there. Only changes from last September were:
-Rebuilt the ZO6 front calipers and repaint -New DBA ZO6 rotor rings -Lubed the chassis mounts of the Z/28 front anti/roll bar in order to soften the bar a touch. -Installed Vorschlag camber plates. -Alignment:Took out .2* of front and rear camber to -2.2/-1.1 respectively. With the Vorschlags, I could easily get to -3.0, but it’s a street car first so I’m keeping the alignment conservative. Also reduced the caster to +6.4 from +8.0 ish. Front toe in about .060” (I like the feel of toe in), and I took some toe in out of the rear, now at .055” toe in. Car is moving away from understeer and felt great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gUl_WYZuQA&t=24s |
I ran a new personal best at the Track Night in America on June 19th.
2:00.00. If not for a few mistakes and tires that were going away, I would have been easy 1:59's. No changes except I removed my rear wicker bill, which the car seemed to be a tiny bit more loose, but well within control. I might switch out the OE 1LE rear anti-roll bar (ARB) for the smaller Z/28 rear ARB, I'm having trouble putting the power down coming out of "Coyote Gulch" Turn 6. Great to hangout with Travis ('17 ZL1), Chez ('17 Challenger R/T) and Chris ('17 ZL1). Rick also was there in his Gen 6 1LE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aulj...ature=youtu.be |
There's an event this Friday (June 29th) with tons of track time available.
It's limited to 40 cars (in a couple places it says 30 cars ?). There are a few openings remaining. Some track experience is required. This is an advanced format with passing anywhere (point-by only). https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...e-compl-520581 You can use discount code SWPPITTDISC2018 for $100 off the registration. It'd be awesome if a couple more guys from the Camaro community could be in attendance. |

I've run with that group several times. It is an awesome event with more seat time than most people will even want. I unfortunately won't be making this event, but I highly recommend it. :thumb: |
New best, 1:57.29
Goodyear SuperCar F1 3R 305/30-19 -3.0 front camber Z/28 rear ARB replaced the bigger 1LE bar Far from a perfect lap Beyond the grip of the Goodyears, I like the feel of them more than the RE71R's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFMuJO067MY |
Travis is at 1:54 on Hoosier R7

I corded the R7s in less than 2 track days. I didn't notice in time to order new tires so I was back to the OE Goodyear F1 Supercar 3s for the weekend. I ran a 1:56.96 which I'm pretty proud of for the tires.

Been a busy summer for me. Haven't had the car out too much this summer (neither the Camaro or the TA). Only made it to the track this 1 time last week. I think I seen a couple of you guys there too.
Ran a new PB. Goal is for sub 2:00:00. Lap after this 1 was 1sec faster going into T16. Red flag came out for a Mustang that crashed and was still on track. Would’ve been close to sub 2 minutes, but I’m happy with my progress. Previous best was 2:04. |
