Replacement shocks and struts

I'm at 87k on the original OEM shocks and struts. BMR lowering springs since 4k on the car. Doesn't look like Koni or Bilstein ever made any for lowering springs. Should I just buy another set of OEM shocks and struts?

magride or not?

wal-dog 12-14-2020 08:58 PM

not

I would go with GMPP kit if you've been happy with the OEM/BMR set up this long.

oem gm or you can try out the bilsteins but not really much out there on market

i have a set of custom bilsteins on my car but they were made to work with yyz springs so not sure if they would work with bmr or not

87K??? Holy moly - that's a lot of miles! My 2016 has 14K. I need to drive it more!

I agree with the suggestion to get the GMPP lowering kit which includes shocks and springs and lowers the car about 3/4" - your shocks need replacement anyway, these will be about the same cost as stock SS shocks and will better match the lower springs. From what I hear this kit gives you pretty close to a 1LE ride height and similar handling but probably not as good overall ride since it's not mag - but I like the ride and handling of the base SS. I am planning an upgrade to the GMPP kit and will include the sway bars probably too. Scoggins Dickey sells it for around $1300 shipped.

And here I am trying to put the FE3 suspension to my LT, been riding the stock FE2 for the full 95k miles to my knowledge lol

I have heard only good things from GMPP, probably best bet

You can get the GMPP kit for $1200+shipping from GM right now (GET25) - 25% discount. Just have to pick up at a dealer.

Jeepers. Why did Koni never make any oranges. Those things where awesome with BMR on my 5th gen. Gonna have to do something.

good catch - actually $1125 - free shipping, but you do have to pay local sales tax.

I just ordered a kit for my 2016 SS Convertible - turns out that one is backordered, but they will ship it when back in stock. Can't beat that price!
Pick up at your local dealer - mine is under 10 miles away.

Nice catch, $1125 it is. I picked up the sway bars as well so saved me $500 off the total. Cheapest price available right now. Too bad I had to pay sales tax as it would have been even better! lol

What's the Pn on the swaybars? When I searched under performance parts for 2016 SS Camaro on the GM accessories webpage that didn't come up.
