CAMARO VS MUSTANG 4 BANGER

which would you choose if they got rid of v6 and v8s?

Neither! If I can't have a v8 I'm not buying. My current car is likely my last v8 anyway so its staying in my garage for the foreseeable future. Each to their own but I have never understood why one would own any generation Camaro without a v8. The looks of the car alone are not enough to justify owning one without the v8 rumble and power needed to back it up.

I feel the same way...

neither. I'd opt for an import if you talk 4bangers.

honda/subaru have much better turbo4 cars if you ask me and still hoping at some point the evo makes a return.

Between those particular two, I prefer the turbo 4 Mustang. I actually have have a 2018 V6 RS as my daily, and a 700 hp 2000 SS as my weekend/summer toy. For me a T4 or V6 makes perfect sense, and is a great daily

Serious question, has there ever been a direct comparison of the Camaro 2.0 1LE vs the EB Mustang HP?

The only one I can find is of the "base" version of both on Throttle House.

A T4 1LE Camaro on E85 and a few mods would be much lighter than an SS, similar power and 50/50 weight distribution. It has a lot of potential or is a fine dd as-is. And of course... Randy Pobst has one. :)

Agree 200 percent! I would NEVER buy a v6 Mustang or Camaro. The feel just isn't there and that rumble and torque as well. Same goes with a Mustang, Challenger, and Charger.

2.0T 1LE for me. Would make a good AutoX machine. Mustang's chassis just isn't nearly as good as Camaro's.

If back seats aren't important and I don't have to worry about being bullied by pickup trucks, though, I personally think I would just opt for an ND2 Miata, or maybe the 2.4 new BRZ if it turns out to be good.

Honda CTR is great but too expensive and still FWD. Hot hatches are their own thing, really. Veloster N looks like a solid alternative to me in that segment.

Subaru? Come on. The EJ25 is an ancient engine that's barely more fuel-efficient than LT1(while making 140 fewer ponies) and it will eat head gaskets when you start modding it and turning up the boost. From what I have heard, the new FB engines aren't too much better when it comes to reliability. It can still have issues with head gaskets. Personally, when one of those engines blows up, it's LS time. I don't particularly hold any sympathy for any bad piston engines.

And you have a better chance of winning the lottery than Mitsubishi giving a crap about their automotive division again.

My 4 banger Mustang made 301/348 to the ground with just the Ford factory intake/tune combo.

****ing hated that car. POS. But was not slow.

Ok, I get the drama... but some people want the looks and feel but do not need the high output. But I digress.

GF has an Ecoboost. I like it as a daily. Plenty of power even for the highways, and gets double the MPG that my SS does. I think a T4 is a nice compromise as a daily. I'd much rather be in a T4 S550/Camaro than a Corolla....
