Help with search to buy ZL1 6spd Convertible

hello,

Anyone selling or knows someone?
Of course, no accidents, as stock as possible and low miles.
Open to blue, gray, and arctic silver (might consider others).

thanks!

Did you find one?

That Arctic silver is awesome.

We just bought a black zl1 vert 6 speed.

D.

Any ZL1 vert m6 will be a rare car. If you find one, pounce. Change color later as availability permits.

There was one ZL1 vert M6 Arctic Silver made AFAIK. A true unicorn. A forum member owns it IIRC.

Build counts:

I did a build for a ZL1 Convertible 6M at Chevy.com earlier today and came up with 2 in the national dealer inventory - one red and one blue. In addition, there were 3 more “In Transit,” whatever that really means today.

The search for used was not much better, with only a handful of 2019-2021s showing up. There was a “wrong” silver one listed; since the dealer is not a supporting dealer here, I’ll PM you the website - but it’s a long way from you.

Just my two cents, but the ZL1 vert is limited to 153 MPH like the 2SS so I didn't see the value in the addition cost. Just food for thought.

The ECU limit is 155.

Not many places you can actually get going that fast, however. You need a LONG straight flat non-public road.

Until you've driven a ZL1 vert and got the giggles, you really don't know the power of the dark side.

I have to agree...Had multiple opportunities to hit the go pedal the other day. It’s quite a rush.

This guy is officially HIGH.

Drew145022 05-22-2021 11:45 PM

Are you sure 155 is the limit??? I swear I got higher than that but I could be remembering wrong.

Plasar 05-24-2021 06:34 PM

195 MPH according to Car & Driver...

CAMARO ZL1 GOES FOR 200 MPH

Oops, now I see, the vert is limited...

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=556860

All of the car reviews of the vert I can see say 195 MPH for the vert:

Car & Driver - 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible

Where did this "knowledge" of limited to 155 MPH start?

Gunkk 05-26-2021 10:38 PM

Mine closed throttle at 155 with a dash display message.

Yes the rags are wrong about the vert. 195 is the coupe top speed (aero limited IIRC). That table at the end of the article shows an estimate for weight so it clearly was written before they actually tested the car.

My "knowledge" is first-hand, not from some halfass article.

OK Gunkk, thanks a lot for the confirmation.

Of course, in the past, the top speed limiters were often put in place to not exceed tire speed ratings.

I made a detour over to Tire Rack to check out what the speed ratings of the OEM tires were for the Camaro, which are the same for the Coupe and Vert.

It was a learning experience to see what a "hack" that the top level speed rating of above 186 MPH had become, with "Z" really denoting "over 149 MPH" and then "W" (168 MPH), "Y" (186 MPH), or "(Y)" (above 186 MPH) being added at the end of the rating. What a mess.

Suffice to say a limit of 155 for the ZL1 Vert was not put in place because of tire limitations of the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires.

How to Read Speed Ratings
