ZL1 front ona SS
Im sure this has been asked..., but does anybody make a decent quality ZL1 front?

If you Google search "aftermarket zl1 bumper" you will find out all you need to know. From personal experience buying aftermarket fiberglass bumpers, they almost all have issues fitting correctly. I wouldn't recommend it.

Of course nobody should be against tasteful mods and enhancements, but trying to transform the entire frontend feels a bit like a "shoulda bought a ..." admission. I have a bunch of mods to my SS, but if GM had allowed more configurability, I probably would've gone with the ZL1. The other thing with exterior parts is that aftermarket fitment is hardly ever up to par, as Jaxcam02 stated. Bumper fitment is especially dicey, heck, even GM's own parts have issues sometimes (e.g. unwanted rear bumper heat expansion). I tried several aftermarket pieces and gravitated back to OEM parts eventually, unfortunately those are the best, if often very costly. |

I see no issue with making your car look or drive the way YOU want it. There are so many modification posts on this website, how is this the forbidden fruit! Go for it, i will be doing the same eventually.
My LT1 is awesome, but it will look more the way i want it to look with a ZL1 front end and a decent wing. Run it. Ikon is the only one i've found thus far. |
Ikon will most likely be your best bet

Keep an eye out I picked up an OEM ZL1 bumper for $450 and an OEM ZL1 hood for $450.

Don't forget the hood and quarter panels. |
