Another Oil/Filter Question

Is this the right filter for the 2018 Camaro SS LT1? And do any of you guys use Valvoline or other name brands just so it’s Dexos rated ?

You can use that. The technically correct filter is the regular PF-64, but you can use the UPF-64R instead. Oil is up to you, so long as its Dexos certified. My choice would be Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum. Save your receipts too in the worst case event if you need warranty engine work, that way you have proof of using a Dexos approved oil.

Thanks man. The 64R filter is the only one I could find. At a dealership

PF64 is the AC Delco professional line. On yours, R stands for the race version. ;-)

You guys wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find the regular PF64 filter. In N/W Indiana. Wtf.

Walmart carries them down here maybe up there too.

Most places carry AC Delco. Just not PF64

Use the filter you posted. I ran the 48 version on my old car and on my truck and they are a much better filter than the regular version

I just run the OEM Pf64 filter with the OEM Mobil1 5w-30 @ 3k mile intervals. Oil changes cost me 50 bucks through amazon.

Wix is fine. WL10290

Thanks guys. Think I’m gonna use the 64R filter.

I'd be cautious of using the UPF64R without first digging into the specs and understanding if it's an overall improvement. From those pics (see CorvetteForum link), you can clearly see the size and # of holes is different on top (more flow area on PF64). Not sure if that matters or not, but I'm not willing to gamble either. I'm also interested in the bypass valve settings on both.
