I’m assuming that they’re going to offer either the new 3.0 or even the new 3.8 for us soon.

Agreed I think that is the case.

My guess is it will be a 3.0. The 3.8 likely isn't going to fit as EFhobbies just posted and it's more supercharger then most will ever need.

Side note that some might find interesting... there has been some testing done with the Eaton TVS3100 rotor pack by Kong performance.

Yea VMP said the same thing for the 3100s for the mustangs. Looks like the 2.65 is the sweet spot for either platform. VMP even went as far as canceling any further development on the 3100 rotor pack.

VMP was using the Magnuson blowers and have been since the 2650 which has been a killer package for Magnuson/Vmp. They started building that when I was with Magnuson back in 2019 and 2020.

Here is a link where they go into further detail about it. https://m.facebook.com/VMPTuning/vid...0753521136584/

Well this is good news I am saving for it and I’m not far from pulling the trigger in it. Now I’m gonna have to decide if I get it from another site or wait and see what they are coming out with...

To be honest, with the rattle noise that the 2.9 Whipple makes on mine (has always made), I've always regretted going with them rather than Maggie or Edelbrock. It makes good power but the noise is just very ugly on what should be a sweet sounding car.

Whipple 3.0 has been 7.9 in the 1/4mi on the Coyote platform and made 1200+whp. It will be plenty of unit for the masses on GM stuff.

That noise is from the slow blower speed due to the large pulley and low idle rpm. A 3.5+ pulley with a 550-600rpm engines idle speed causes the gear case to make that noise. When you pulley down and/or raise idle rpm it quiets down.

Thanks, yes Im aware of that being a common issue. Mind you mine still has some rattle above idle and seems to have gotten louder not quieter over time. I actually wonder if its the coupler/front bearing (assuming there is one?) rather than the screws. Despite that, its an annoying sound for an otherwise great sounding car.

As it turns out, the noise is from a failure in the snout; the coupler had effectively started to disintegrate and the drive bearing has failed. Its been off the road now waiting for parts for one and half weeks, and expected at least still 2 weeks off.

So my feeling about Whipple at the moment is; great when they're working, but not reliable.

Not the best choice based on my experience and the apparent long list of noise/breakages etc.
