ZL1/ZL1 1LE CARBON FIBER HOOD For Sale Anderson Composites Type-OE Hood

7 Attachment(s)
Price: $2100 for hood and scoop

Shipping: Willing to ship at the expense of buyer.

Hood alone: $1'200
Scoop Alone: $1'000

Note, added 3/5/19: It was just brought to my attention that Anderson composites also raised their price on the hood (not including scoop) to $1499

I'm Selling a BRAND NEW two piece carbon fiber hood meant only for a zl1/zl1 1le by anderson composites. Just to clarify the hood follows the exact same specs and dimensions as the hood found on the 6th Gen zl1/zl1 1le however in this case the full hood is carbon fiber. This is the most expensive hood that anderson composites sells for a Camaro.

Further clarification: this hood has NEVER BEEN INSTALLED and has literally never seen daylight, has been kept indoors the whole time, and is still in the same wrapping paper that anderson composites sent the hood in. As you can see in the pictures. The hood is very shiny due to the fact that its never been used, furthermore as a Camaro owner one should know that anderson composites makes some of the best carbon fiber parts out there.

If anyone knows anything about ordering carbon fiber hoods from anderson composites or have tried the wait times are ridiculous (many months) and the hoods are ALWAYS OUT OF STOCK and then on top of that you have to pay a $340 shipping fee as well as state tax if applicable on top of an already $2300 subtotal. I paid over $2800 for this hood once including tax and shipping as you can see in the attached invoice.

Being able to get a carbon fiber hood for a 6th Gen Camaro even in the same month is unheard of.

Reason for selling is that my 2017 Camaro engine is misfiring and I want to get rid of my car asap therefore making this hood useless to me. Again this hood has never been installed, never seen daylight, and is still sitting in my house wrapped with the same wrapping paper that anderson composites shipped it with.

Shipping: I am located in the bay area and if you are in the bay area that would work out perfectly or I can ship it but that will be at the expense of the buyer.

Why not just fix the misfire?

EDFHOBBIES 02-28-2019 07:46 AM

How much for the hood only.. not the insert or insert cover?

PROMETHEUS 03-04-2019 03:40 PM

You would need the insert, because the OEM insert doesn't fit the hood, according to their website. The hood is $1499 on the website, most likely a recent price increase.

The dealer said it would require a new engine and ended up quoting me $16k, besides I really want to upgrade to a zl1 being that the prices for those used are dropping now.

I just want to upgrade to a zl1, and the dealer quoted me a $16k fix saying that I need to throw away the engine lol.

I actually just saw that the increased the pricing, $1500 is crazy, and that doesn't even include the scoop. Im curious though where does it say that the oem insert doesn't fit their hood?

PROMETHEUS 03-06-2019 08:33 PM

*Designed to fit OE ZL1 hood or Anderson Composites ZL1 hood, does not fit "aftermarket" ZL1 replica hoods

My apology, I misread it. It will fit either the OEM or theirs, but will NOT fit "aftermarket" ZL1 replica hoods.

BTW, what a beautiful hood! Too bad you are not a lot closer!

Thank you man, I appreciate it! Were you interested in the hood? I could ship it.

PROMETHEUS 03-17-2019 07:57 PM

I think the shipping cost would drive the price "out of my range". But thanks for asking!
