How to add INTERCOOLER RESERVOIR

So we have announced a plug and play Reservoir for ZL1 guys finally. This allows you to be able to check and fill your intercooler as well as add capacity.

Great job...just ordered it

Great add... so will a reservoir be following this one?

So this will get around having to go to dealer to pull vacuum and fill correct? If so I'm in.... dealer wants $160 to fill and right now have to have special fitting to do it

Why would someone need this exactly? On stock supercharger anyways.

On the ZL1 there is no way to refill IC cooling system easily, just about have to go to dealer with their special fitting. And they have to pull a vacuum according to shop procedure as well. If someone (like me) takes SC off for whatever reason the dealer wants $160 to put coolant back in. For $200 I can do it myself at will..... if I decide later to port SC then this will have more than paid for itself.

As mlee asked though, would be nice to have bigger reservoir for more coolant capacity, and could ice the system as well...

How does one check the level? How come this isn't in owners manual?

No way to on our cars that I know of. With that being said, we really should not have to check it unless we suspect a leak. I do not have the manual with service intervals in front of me, but I would suspect that the IC coolant does not have to be changed but once every 70-100k miles. (If someone has manual handy please feel free to put correct intervals on here). To me this is really more beneficial in that we CAN drain and fill the IC system.... if needed.

I am going to call ADM next week to verify that we will not need to pull vacuum with this system, or that it is high enough to kind of self purge air pockets. If so I am in, if for no other reason as to allow me to do it myself without having to go to the dealer to do it! :)

So I will explain:

So back in 2016 we developed an LT4 Supercharger kit for the 2016 SS Camaro (http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=444241) and came to the realization that the factory intercooler system needed the ability to fill it wiith out the special filling procedure.

We came up with a group of hoses and coolant tank that fit the bill. This small but useful tank with the correct hoses and placement fit the bill just perfectly.

You do not need to pull a vacuum to fill it,you just need to pour it in and check it.

Does not get any easier than that.It is also completely reversible.

Cheers
Andy

Guys just go ahead and get this, it will make your life much easier trust me. I had my system vacuum bled when i removed my blower to do my pulley swap. The dealer did not even get all the air out and my pump began to cavitate and shut down, I ended up having to put a clear hose on the fill valve attached to a funnel filled with coolant and pushed down the pin with a 1/4 inch extension while jumping the IC pump to burp the system. NOT FUN.

So how do I order one of these? I stopped by the shop today and the shop was closed... or at least the door was locked. Tried to call as well.
